It is good to know that everything in PI will be affordable for a long time. I hope to see you and RK and WR in June if you're around. I'll be in MNL, AC, CEB and DMG. Regards.

In 2020 is it projected to be 35,000,0000 more men than women. Thirty-five million! That's Canada's population. That's seven Norways - need I remind you of what one lone Norwegian has torn through here each day during his short stays??? Expect barfines and ST / LT charges to skyrocket accordingly. I fear the GFE will evolve to the GBE (Gang Bang Experience) as these Pinays endeavour to accommodate the pent up demand of the under-sexed on tight holiday schedules. How will the place handle the tsunami of cum?

China
I have offered to pay for my ugly little sister in laws Mandarin classes. And she goes why I want to go to Canada. Now that is the culture thing. With 1. 7 million homeless kids on the streets of Manila alone. 1/2 are girls. Teach them Mandarin and send them to China. Shit it would be better than shooting Chinese tourist on a bus. Well I still like Gangles info even though we digress.

Poverty 3 drivers
WR, poverty in any country does not originate from young pregnancies.
The three primary drivers of poverty are:
Widespread and endemic corruption.
Unstable government.
An ineffective land title system.
Corruption has two effects. One is to drain money from the public coffers, which is a relatively minor effect. The main problem is that corruption distorts the tendering and contracting, which causes contracts to be let which do not give best value for money. An example is Hun Sen, and the billion dollars given by the EU to repair Highway 1.
Unstable government means that governments do not honour contracts which are let. For example Terminal 3 in Manila airport. The effect of this is to scare away foreign investment, which is essential for national development.
An ineffective land title system means that owners of land cannot leverage their land to increase wealth. The Phils is a classic example of this, with 4 sources of title. So banks cannot be certain of a title as proof of ownership, and hence will not lend against a title as surety.
If any country, or community, has any one of the three, there will be widespread poverty. For example, the remote aboriginal communities in central Australia. The Philippines has all three, and hence it is unlikely to be able to climb out of generic poverty for a long time.
G
Gangles I would disagree not sure what land tenure has to do with it for me the 3 causes are:
1. Ignorance, lack of proper education. If you think just because they go to school for 10 years they are educated, ha. These people I am sad to say are dumb by my standards, they simply can not solve simple problems I know I have had MANY staff there for years! They are paid shit for a reason! That will insult some of you but consider the service in a restaurant versus the service in Thailand. Consider the service in any business compared to Thailand. If I did not have staff there and mine now are EXCELLENT people I would never visit this place Thailand is 5 times better in every way except language!
2. Religion and poor culture values (the flip side is they are happy)
3. Lack of proper transportation Infrastructure, hard to understand for many but Canada US and Western Europe have the best road and transportations infrastructures on the globe and that allows access to markets and mobility which is a cornerstone of wealth generation. Rome had great roads!!!!! Every poor country on the planet lacks proper roads!
4. Corruption which would be reduced with a greater level of education and a different culture.
5. Poor Banking.
The Philipinos EXPECT to be fucked over and they are ok with that. Thats the teaching of the Catholic Church, GIVE to the Church and HEAVEN will rock! I paraphrased a little.
I have had staff and highly educated and learned pinoy friends for many years these poor people will never overcome these issues and now they are further burdened by a simple overuse of resources, there are tom any mouths to feed with to few resources, so in summary men like this group will continue to fuck and stimulate the local economy for generations!
The poor banking is that a Farmer who owns land can not borrow against it so he goes to money lenders with us-eras rates and they fuck the farmer and the cycle repeats itself. If a farmer could get a 5% loan they would actually GET AHEAD in life.
Sadly I think the people that know this take advantage of this. I mean things are not cheap in the phils, things like rooms and meals and anything that requires a capital outlay meaning the women bring us and we spend with the rich.
The system will remain in place for the next 100 years an there will be greater and greater class discrepancy until their is a revolution and this has been repeated many times in history!
I have offered to pay for my ugly little sister in laws Mandarin classes. And she goes why I want to go to Canada.
Perhaps condition her that she may have her sights set on the wrong target. I have in depth knowledge of OFWs working in Canada.
My conspiracy theory is this: On April 1. 2012, the Canadian govt passed legislation OFWs can only work in Canada for four years. They must then leave Canada and go home for four years. At that time I predicted the Catholic churches basements would be full of Filipinos gnashing their teeth about how it was not fair and public sentiment would favor them. They work so hard, don't complain, and they are just darn cute and cuddly.
Even up until a year ago I think this would have been the case. In the last year, in Canada like so many other countries, the tide of OFW support has turned to a backlash against them. Publicized reports of banks outsourcing, miners who must speak Mandarin to apply to work in Canada, McDonalds hiring OFWs full time while cutting Canadian's hours is starting to take a toll.
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/mcdonald-s-foreign-worker-practices-face-growing-investigation-1.2607365
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/economy/jobs/foreign-labour-program-has-outgrown-its-usefulness/article17951222/
My thought is that with one year to go until the first OFWs are due to be refused new work permits and told to leave, the govt is using these public complaints to ensure that when PFWs complain about having to leave, the government will have turned the public support against OFWs and into support for the government. Who by just by coincidence I am sure are due to run for reelection in September.
Redman69, if you want more info send me a PM with some questions and I will do my best to answer them. Keep in mind I go there to find the cute ones because they seem to send the ugly ones here. She just may fit in here.

In some selected cities, Chinese who were single children themselves, married to a single child will be allowed a second child.
http://www.china-profile.com/data/fig_pop_2.htm
China is trying to pro-actively manage its population to ensure that by 2050, when more than 50% of its population is in the ageing class, that it will have enough workers. But if you know China, you will know it will never import workers unless under very strict and temporary conditions.
In my lifetime we will never see Filipino OFW's working legally in China even if they know Mandarin. Singaporeans and Malaysian and Indonesian Chinese yes, but not Filipinos.

The Chinese leadership will quietly promote the second child for the social aspect that having a brother or sister brings.
The Chinese are very aware that the single children who are now adults behave in very anti social ways on planes, in hospitals (attacking doctors who don't give them priority, stabbing or shooting them when they give them a diagnosis they don't agree with) and in general when overseas, demanding and expecting preferential treatment because they've been spoil and led to expect all their lives.
They know that those that have siblings generally are more social, more mature, and more aware of their social responsibilities. Where it all goes, who really knows.
Ok. Back to the subject matter.

Sister inlaw
Guys, I want her to marry some average working Chino, Who can not afford a 2 bedroom condo in Shanghi put in her name. My mother in law will sign the papers for a toaster.
As pointed out there are many more men. They will want women. If you can say I Do. In Manderian I think it will be a legal marriage. And my little sister inlaw who is ugly will not be Bi like she is now. She can be Hetro, have a baby and be married to a man who works and supports his wife and kid.
It will not be long before those 30 million men start visiting RP, supply and demand. Prices will raise some. My sister in law can help me support Ma.
Now I do agree on Chinese from Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam will be first in line. But there are ugly Chinese men for short ugly Pinays.
Now, men go to the border with N. Korea and pay for brides who get across.
I really do agree on the property issue though. And when the farmer does not own. He does not invest in the soil either. Shift fields. And other good long term practices.

i got involved with the pi years ago because of the perception of lower language barrier. these day's i see english literacy dropping in pi amongst the average serf so that advantage is receding in my experience. i noticed recently that speeches in their congress no longer have to be in english.
over time reality set in for me & i realised that one can spend their time / money better elsewhere. i have to agree with you, thailand offers a much better proposition.

Poverty and land tenure
Hi PP,
In my country 80% of the wealth lies in the ownership of land.
The average young Australian can decide to buy a property, even though he does not have the cash to afford it. He buys the property by borrowing the money from a bank, or other lender. He offers surety for the loan by entering into a mortgage arrangement, with the title as surety. This is leveraging title to create wealth, because the young guy steadily pays off the loan, and eventually takes sole ownership, unencumbered. He can then take the title to a bank and borrow money against the title for purposes of starting a business, buying more property etc.
The bank will accept this surety, because it is certain that the title accurately reflects the ownership of the property.
This is generally not the situation in the Philippines. Because there are 4 agencies which are authorised to issue title, a bank can not be certain that the title does accurately reflect ownership. While I was working on a land titling project in the Philippines, we came across a property in Quezon City which had three apparently valid titles, all in different names.
So the average Filipino has no opportunity to leverage land to create wealth.
G
On an unrelated note, every time I see property in Philippines on instalment basis including condos I have to try not to laugh when they present the payment terms: 60% to 80% down payment and balance on instalment. Including for condos that haven't seen even the land being prepared. Essentially the developer gets a risk free ride, so to say, just on the down payments alone.
Only in the Philippines it is allowed to sell as much units as position before even starting the piling work.
Amavida, was in Bauko last week. Guess what, under the new education policy mother tongue education has started in Philippines. So the kids in Bauko are studying in Ilocano. As if that's going to be a mighty helpful to go overseas.
And my friend 's sister commented that it may be part of the plans of oligarchs to clip the wings of future Filipinos lest all take wings and leave the taipans with no staff.

New to the forums
Hi guys,
I'm a 26 yo aussie. I want to hit the Philippines for a mixture of sex and just general tourism stuff. This will be my first proper holiday and I will be going alone.
I have a few questions regarding things I've read and just a few general questions, I realize alot of my questions have no clear cut answer so I'm more after forum goers opinions.
1) how long should I book for in total? I have no time constraints, I could literally book for a one way ticket and come back in two years. But I'm really looking for an opinion on a good "sweet" spot where I won't feel rushed but I'm also not going to be bored. My understanding is that I must have a return ticket booked when entering Philo from Australia?
2) I hope to go in June. I realize this is just the beginning of the wet season? What is the night life activity like during this period, as well as the availability of tours and girls?
3) is it possible to book one night at a hotel then just pay as I go? Or do hotels fill up fast. I don't want to tie myself down.
4) is Angeles city worth going from a tourism stand point or is it just worth going there for girls? Can anyone recommend and awesome places that aren't well known for me to research?
Finally,
5) I've read mixed reports about the safety of the streets at night. Some reports say to get s taxi if you're more than 6 minutes away from the red light district in Manila, others say it's okay to walk around at night in general. Anyone have a more recent opinion?
Thanks for reading, I'm sure if anyone could tackle these questions they would assist others as well as myself.
Cheers

Mother Tongue (MT) is to be used up to Grade 3. After that the multi-lingual education (MLE) policy kicks in and students start to learn English and / or Filipino AS WELL as their MT or local dialect.
