Last time I visited Rio was end of September 2010.

Usually it's a great experience for me but due to Mandarin closing down all the customers moved to Rio.

So I was unable to get a table upstairs or downstairs and only a place on the bar if I was lucky.

I too was disheartened to hear about the demise of Mandarin along with other riverside establishments most notably the River Palace. However, I was told by the managers at Rio that there are plans to reopen Mandarin, which I wish would be very soon as I have stopovers in Kiev for weekends of April 14 and April 28 and have no plans to be back until after the summer, maybe in October. Missed your post yesterday as I've been busy chasing tail to all hours this weekend as I traveled back to San Jose, CR for this weekend on a ticket I received for free when I got bumped last year and the ticket was expiring.
