GE[/QUOTE]Even the term Filipino-a name invented by the Spanish-was reserved for European-born people and creoles (those of Spanish blood born in the Philippines) until the late 19th Century. In the later 19th Century the term Filipino was extended to urbanized native elites and those of Chinese heritage who had become essentially hispanized. Offspring with European fathers clearly had advantages, and brown skinned people were simply lower class natives. Even today the preference for lighter skin is seen in advertising on TV, in magazines, and billboards. The light skin bias is hardly restricted to the Philippines.

Here is some advice to help you educate your bed mates about their own bodies.

I have done extensive investigation about the levels of knowledge that girls have about their own bodies and believe me, it is very low. Most of them have zero knowledge about the risky times in the month for them to have sex.

For girls who are NOT using any form of contraception (pill or Depo) ask them if they have regular menstrual cycles. That is, does their period come regularly between Day 28 to 31 each month. If so, then you can help them with the following instruction.

Day 1 is the FIRST day of bleeding, and they then count right through until the next first day of bleeding. They should get to Day 28 to 31 before they start over again if they are regular,

Ovulation occurs mid-cycle which is around Day 13-15.

The absolutely UN-SAFE days to have unprotected sex are between Days 8 to 21. If they DO NOT want to get pregnant, then they should not f*ck unprotected between these days.

They might get away with it up to Day 10 but there is a chance the wrigglies will hang around inside for a few days and latch on to the "egg" around Day 13 to 15. If ovulation is delayed by a day or two, then sex even on Day 18 can be risky.

So, to be absolutely sure, they shouls not have sex unprotected between Days 8 to 21. As I said, they might be safe between Days 10 to 18 but it depends on how fertile the girl is and also how potent the guy's tadpoles are.

Of course, if she is IRREGULAR, with periods coming after 15 days, 35 days or sometimes not at all, then it is Russian Roulette. You must use a condom for that situation.

I am appalled that so few girls know this stuff. Amazingly, I met a girl around 6 months ago who had a bf and he was the one who knew when it was OK to f*ck and when it was risky, so he called the shots. She had no idea why they had been having sex off and on for 6 months and she had not become pregnant.

So. But I think that the most insightful comment is that barebacking without protection is just a game of Russian Roulette. And you are totally correct that women in general, and Filipina women in particular, have no clue about their reproductive cycle. She conceived, and the estimated date of conception as based on ultrasound reports pointed towards Day 6 or 7 as the most likely dates that fertilization occured. So the conclusion is simple. Blacks even have vocabulary for this kind of thing: 'oreo', 'inside-out oreo', etc. In filipines, its not just racial as in color of skin. Its cross-cultural. Luzonians can be heard to speak of low-brow persons in this put-down way: "She's so visayan." I've barebacked easily hundreds of pinay. Regarding pro's first. As I make my intentions clear before departing the bar (or with SW) , there should not be a need for concern. It's not really an accident that the richest people in the country are those with Spaniish Ancestry and the Chinese.

Now if in fact a dark skinned Filipino is not afforded the opportunities of their lighter counter-part than we both agree thats certainly discrimination and quite ridicously at that. Now if for instance a Filipino was to deny another ethic or race opportunities based on those mentioned than that would be racism. Now theres no need to spend much time on words or terms if in fact there is racism, discrimination or prejudice in the phils than thats certainly a shame. But if history tells us anything is that the conquered are usually the ones that are left poor and in shambles. So its not surprising that filipinos with Spanish ancestry or of mixed origins are wealthier than the indigenous peoples we have seen this since time and memorial. But I'm curious is this prejudice based solely on complexion or the presumption that if one is dark than one is not wealthy.
