First Airbnb was on Aguacate street, which is on the opposite side of the block from a good, although EXPENSIVE restaurant called Cha Cha Cha. It's also 3-5 minutes tops walking from a place called Antojo's, which was one of my favorite places to eat when in Havana Vieja. I also got spectacular pina coladas as Antojo's and their mojitos were very good.

Second Airbnb was near Spanish Embassy, walking distance to Prado and Malecon. Really can't beat the location. The lady who owns it told me that because it's close to the Spanish embassy they NEVER lose power and I believe that. So if that's a problem for you, look at places near to the Spanish embassy as apparently that part of the grid is super reliable.

Another good food place was La Macorina, right on Prado. No idea of it's state owned or not, but the mojitos are top notch and the food was very good and also super reasonable. The service was also top notch. One of the ladies who works there is a pretty morena with light eyes, quite the look. Didn't attempt to take her home, but I would guess anything is possible.

El Biky (Vicky) is also good, but a bit of a taxi ride (2 k pesos) from Prado area, but the service was great, prices reasonable and food was high quality.

Best thing I ate was seafood Paella at a paladar called San Lorenzo. Stupid expensive at $25 USD, but I almost licked the bowl it came in clean, that's how good it was. Amazing.

Had zero issues with things not being on the menu at any place I went to, no stomach issues, all good.

Yep, only 2 full days, a crazy nightmare of a trip.

My preferred taxista picked me up at the airport. He's got a nice 2015 Peugeot with awesome air conditioning, super clean, well maintained, nice ride. Creature comforts, I need them. Probably why Havana frustrates me so much.

Got to Miramar area apartment. Got settled, walked down to Hotel Copacabana and grabbed a late lunch. Prices in CUP were reasonable, but I didn't realize that because this is a state owned hotel, the conversion rate there is 120 pesos to 1 USD. So I paid 3 x more than I should have for my lobster and 3 pina coladas and 1 mojito. Still at $30 USD, I didn't cry too much.

Lesson learned, always have at least 10-20 k in pesos on you, so if you stumble into a place with a bad exchange rate, you just pay in pesos.

WhatsApped my little teacher friend who showed up in record time to meet me (less than 20 minutes from Capitolio area, so she was primed to come fuck), we walked around and found a place that exchanged $ to pesos at 350:1 and all 1 k notes! YESSS!

Went back to my place, fucked like mad people for about 2 hours. Awesome. The prices are all over the board, the constant need to figure out what exchange rate any particular place offers is maddening, the lack of consistent internet, or power, or toilet fucking paper is also maddening. I really wanted to love this place because I can fly out of my home airport at 9 AM and with no delays be in HAV by 2 PM. Short travel day, leaves lots of time for putas.

But I guess I'm a spoiled American now, but it is what it is. For now, I've compared Cuba to my previous favorites Bogota and Medellin and Aruba and all 3 of those are better. Honestly why spend hundreds or maybe 1000 or more dollars on flights, lodging, food and then not get the girl you want over 50 or 60 bucks. It's penny wise and pound foolish. Once you're here I think just open the wallet and spend. It will all add up to probably less than the cost of your flight.

I hope to get reports of your trip. I was there in March but my situation only allows me one boys' trip per year, so now I'm stuck living vicariously though reports of the lucky guys who get to be there now until I can go back next March or April.

As for the money part, I fully agree with you. Value is in the eye of the beholder. If you want to spend $100 to not have to negotiate, then that's your choice. I was offered and happy to pay $50 a couple of times while I was there, but I'm sure there are guys here that would call me a simp for not negotiating it down to $30. Your $$ your choice.

If you're going for a week, definitely do not change $500. It's very inconvenient to have to try to spend everything in pesos, and when you want to pay a girl 15,000 pesos in 500's, it's such an annoyance. When I was there, I changed $300. Each time I left the apartment, I walked out with 20,000 cup and about $60 USD. I never ran out of funds.

As for apps, I used Badoo. I would recommend going on that no more than a week before your trip to avoid being harassed nonstop but also to avoid having the girl forget who you are ince you're out there. Ask for the girl's WhatsApp and then you can move the conversation to there. That should give you a list of girls to contact once you're there. Also, if you see a girl during the day that you want to talk to but don't want to spend to much time with her right then, just get her WhatsApp and message her later. When I was there, I had 2 girls from Badoo and 2 girls who's number I got while walking around during the day.

As for time frame, don't think of it that way. Get a girl back to your place, offer her a drink, play some music, chat her up. That's what I love most about being there, the whole "date" atmosphere. Wander San Rafael street, heading west from Parque Central (entrance is Hotel Inglaterra / Teatro National corner), goes for a few blocks, go to the end, walk back, easily will see a few that you can evaluate closer and make a determination.

Parque Central. Didn't see much there when I was in Havana, but did run across a MILF who seemed appealing. She definitely wanted to, but I didn't go with it.

Prado. My personal favorite walk. Start at the top, near to the other corner of Inglaterra (it's a different hotel, forget the name, but same block / building), walk down Prado, literally downhill toward the malecon. Avoid getting hit by the rollerbladers, skateboarders. Lots and lots and lots of choices.

Trannys. Didn't see a single one in either of my 2 visits. I'm sure they exist, but I didn't see any, so truly not a worry.
