general:
one of the nicest towns in isaan, or even in the whole of thailand for a foreigner to spend a few days. wide, reasonably quiet streets, a large
number of recreational facilities including attractive lakes, fishing. also, in the opinion of the writer this is the best place to get good service by
quality meat at very reasonable prices. highly recommended.
however, i would like to request you again that please think: do unto others as you would.....etc. please, no matter how tempting it may seem to do otherwise, use the meat only for short-times and recycle as soon as possible so that others can enjoy too.

the town itself is not much. in less than one day you can see
everything. and the stray dogs are a killer. thay take the fun out of
any stroll around town. (well, dogs are very much like people, aren't they?)
transport:
the main bus terminal is near the centre of town. you can walk there in
20 minutes or a samlo is 30b. there are buses to udon thani every 30 minutes but others also to loei, pitsanulok, bankok.
accomodation/food:
plenty of hotels and backpacker joints on the second and third road
from the river. the riverside is lined with restaurants. there is a
night-market on the third road, after 6pm daily.
meat:
at night it is very hard to find a samlo. eventually managed to hail
one and asked the driver about the 300b brothels. he said they were
closed but there are some 700b ones. lao meat. fare is going to cost
100b. for this he will take me to 3 houses and will wait for free. at#1
place there were only 2 ugly girls. #2 had four better ones. at last we
arrived at the furthest one, here we found 6-7 passable ones. i didn't

general:
medium sized, quiet thai town on the mekong river. locals reasonably friendly. very few foreigners apart from a few backpackers passing through on the way to laos.
transport: hour and half from mukdahan, 2 hours from sakon nakhon and 5 hours from udon thani by aircon bus. somewhat longer by ordinary. bus station located in northern part of the city centre, walkable distance or a samlor costs 30b. no train. also frequent bus connections to khorat, kon ken and bang-cock.
accomodation and food:
several cheap hotels near the riverfront, on the 2nd and 3rd roads from the mekong, rooms from 200b. nightmarket is also on the 3rd street. generally, apart from the hotels not much english is spoken anywhere.
other things to do: the scenic riverside is ideal for an early morning jog or walk all day, lined with a several kilometres long footpath. nearby that panom town has one of the most sacred temples in the country (similar to nakonsi tammarat) and attracts many thai pilgrims. there are also markets, many food stalls, and a museum. interesting day out. 56 km from
nakon panom, you catch buses/songthaews either at the bus station or on the riverside road. they run every 30 minutes all day to 5pm.

general:
possibly the 3rd largest siti in thai and the capital of isaan, kon ken is very thai. few foreigners visit here and you will be stared at a lot. but because of this isolation yet there is little resentment towards foreigners we are treated as distinguished guests and can receive good service, as you will see below. the town is reasonably clean and organized and quite easy to get around in.
transport:
kon ken has an airport, a railway station and two main bus station. this adds up to possibly the most well connected towns transportwise. buses to bangkok every 10 minutes (8hrs vip). travel to udon thani 3hrs, phitsanulok 6hrs and chiang mai 12 hrs. also, 20 buses a day to loei.
accomodation and food:
a few hotels are marked on the map that you can walk to from either bus stations. range of these rooms 200-600b. a better map you can pick up from the tourist office or the hotels. on all the main three streets marked there are many food stalls day and night and also at the bus stations. apart fromt the major hotels very little english spoken anywhere. there are a very few expat restaurants, in the city centre.
meat:
as i said earlier, this town was the most amazing experience in terms of extreme top level service and the beauty of the meat most everywhere. prices are not rock bottom but still reasonable, 5-700/pop, and i have to mention again "with beautiful, kind girls". i was the most impressed. the driver's service was good too. which steets, where exactly we went i am
not quite sure. it really doesn't matter since the only way for a foreigner to go there is as a "guest", in the company of a local man, which can be your driver. he will know where to go. of course you will remember that there are very few of us and that we are guests only, so actually pinpointing those places on a map would also be very impolite. i am sure you will have just as much fun as i had.

it is easy to spend a whole day just wandering the streets of this exotic town. you can also go fishing for "free" at the lake marked below. there is a designated area. watch where the locals fish. basic tackle you can buy in town for 200b. you can also walk around the lake or pedal a rented bike. many very impressive temples in the same area. a bit further from town
there are some interesting places to visit by public transport:
-there is "turtle village" where thousands of turtles roam the streets. same goes for another one called "snake village". and one more, the "hooker-village". (i just made that last one up, sorry).

Si Saket and Buriram RWSSWs
People,
Been to Si Saket and Buriram recently.
Sisa is much the same, but the girls fattened. Probably too little to do and too many of them have in between fuck jobs at the restaurant across the street from the RWS. Big **** Lady was there and she performed as usual.
Prices asked: B200-300
Prices paid: B300 (didn't go with the cheapos)
Buriram was awesome! Found two chicks at the RWS and they performed very well indeed sir! They were both slim and had a 1990s Dutch "gabber girl" hairstyle, if that means anything to you.
Some more girls were there from about 8pm, but they could not compete with the gabber girls.
Prices asked: B500
Prices paid: B200 and B300
The hotel across the 'parking lot' is B120 and they even wash the curtains!
