The point stands the place is overpriced & stuckmann's are dishonest & do not know the first thing about Customer Service. Get with the facts not unfounded proclmations.

I have been reading the forum regarding hotels.
the three hotel that appear faverite are:
Europa
New Gardens
Varamar
What I cant find is any website to book these hotel or any reference to what these hotels cost per night or per week.
do any of them have Wi-Fi internet access.
A detailed report would be good on these three hotels giving:
price
location which is best for action!
Facilities, safe, internet, Wi-fi, non smoking restaurant or bar, GF or joiners fee for guest, AC,
distance from air port and transport available. read taxi about 1000dr
what about bus.
how do i book? anyone got email address?
any help appreciated!

Back to mongering and away from personal accusations.

Prices really depend on your formula: that is, what do you look like, how much Spanish you speak, and how are your negotiating skills? I was in the DR last month and I got the same deaf mute in a previous post.- not for the outrageous price of $150/200, but for $60 and a ride home in the morning. (And yes.- she is very sexy) She even wanted me to come up to meet her kid.- all of course, because I'm a relatively young, athletic American who speaks Spanish. The next night I had a girl for free. Mostly because I played hard to get, danced with her all night, and paid for the part-timer hotel.

I've been to the DR at least 20 times; I've been quiet on the board but I have a lot of tips and here are a couple of my survival tips. I'll give more later:

1. STICK TO THE NORTH COAST: Sosua is good for "spoon fed" mongers who care about their wallet. Here are my ratings for the major cities in the DR (in descending order):

Quality of Women: Santiago, Santo Domingo, Puerto Plata, Sosua, and finally Boca Chica: Not to say that Boca Chica is weak by any means (certainly not as weak as the Boca Chica board on ISG seems to indicate), but this is still the DR and the women are still Dominican. The quality is good, but not as good you would perhaps see in Santo Domingo or Santiago. Santiago is the haven for beautiful lighter-skinned women, but availability is more limited.

Availability of Women: Sosua, Boca Chica, Santo Domingo, Puerto Plata, and Santiago: The women are in Sosua are by far the most accessible in all of the country. Sure, there are night clubs in Santo Domingo and Puerto Plata, but virtually every woman you see in Sosua is available for action. Boca Chica and Puerto Plata have discos where almost all women are available and Santiago has its share of other venues. However, the venues in Santiago have come under scrutiny in recent months and are not as open as you may think. I favor the casinos in SD (particularly the Jaragua) but by far, the best place for open-air day and night time mongering is Sosua.

Pricing: Sosua, Boca Chica, Puerto Plata, Santiago, Santo Domingo: Just like any other market-driven economy, DR women operate on supply and demand in most cases. You will find that prices in Sosua can be much less than those in Santo Domingo. But trust me, in some locations.- the able monger can get away with 1000 pesos or less in the right situation. Many advertise that they have gotten free play in the DR, but many can be discounted as bravado. Just my humble opinion. Of course, I fall in this category, but I look.- and sound Dominican so my situation is different from the typical American.

2. BE CAREFUL AND AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS. You have to remember that almost every Dominican has the somewhat troublesome impression that All Americans have a pocket full of money and a bucket of gold at home. This is troublesome because they expect you to pay the retail price for all transactions. I took a motoconcho once and the driver told me he would charge me 300 pesos for a 100 peso ride because I was American and could afford it. This is how many Dominicans think. So, while you want to represent a good, clean-cut, and fairly well-dressed image.- don't over do it. It can get you in trouble for a Dominican (or Haitian) who doesn't know where their next meal is coming from. Also, you DO NOT WANT TO GO TO A DOMINICAN JAIL. There are no beds or meals.- people in Dominican jails have to rely on friends or family to bring in meals every day. Otherwise, it's a dog-eat-dog world. And if you have not friends/family in the DR.-- Forgetit. I won't go into the prison situation for you individuals who like "younger" women. Just be careful and represent our country well.

Europa & New Garden are in town near the action. Voramar is further out and requires taking motos a lot. You can review the websites for most details.

All are guest friendly. At Europa a fee is charged for more than 1 guest at a time. I know Europa has electronic in-room safe at no extra charge, good a/c with no special card control, cable, back-up power. The restaurant, Quixotes, has wi-fi but I don't think the hotel does. You can book Europa or Voramar by email no deposit.

In season they are about $50 a night, off season - after April 15th or so they are less.

The Gregorio Luperon airport (POP) is less than 10km away. $15-20 taxi, or walk to the highway .5km and get a GuaGua or publico for 50 pesos or so.

The voramar seems decent...cheap...and safe..Does any of you gents know the inroom safe is large enough to keep a Laptop??

The car rentals are Cheap!!!!!!!!! what a treat compared to Santo Domingo!!! wow

Stayed there several times. Henk +Harold will treat you right. Say Ben(Chily) spoke highly about the hotel.---------------------------New Garden is ok, but very ''clicky'' Italian. Food service is very slow. Hotel very convenient. ------------Europa=forget.

If I am corerct...do they also offer a pick up service at POP airport??

Once i have booked flight, I will book one hotel for a few days and then move around and try them all!
If anyone has the web site for new garden hotel, it would be good but i can look once i get there, so no big problem.

Harald is orginally from luxembourg and henk is from the netherlands. There is also another guy from germany called patrick who is really nice and takes care of you. The voramar offers airport pickup, one the 3 dudes will pick you up and bring you pack to the airport.

I have read the board, and cannot find a girl-friendly hotel in SOSUA with in the room internet access. I have read that not all hotels are girl friendly, so Expedia.com is not the way to find a hotel.

Any suggestions? Please help!

There are chica friendly hotels in Sosua and you are going to find them searching through Expedia. The Hotels are the Europa, New Garden, Voramar, Clud Residential, and other smaller hotels that are cheaper than these. I dont most of these hotels offer internet room access, just go down to Rockys sit down and have a meal or something to eat and you will all the internet you will want.

Three permenant residents at club resedential use wireless and have not blocked the signal. In most rooms there you can pick it up. Europa has a cafe where the owner will let you use internet if you buy anything, even a soda. He will even supply you with a laptop.
But unless you must work while you are there, make use of the internet cafes that are on every corner. I have met some stunners while using them, and it gives you a destination during the day. La roca (one of my favorite eating holes) also offers free wireless internet, and has two computers onsite to check email.
