Not wanting to start a flame war, this is the most hated Termas (Centaurus is) by locals. Period. The girls, for the cost they charge people try and get over all the time, like the one that told you about the CBJ policy? Yeah, right. The price for an hour with a GDP, just one is 400BR (About 300 and 100 for the room) from what I've gathered in the Brazilian forums. Add entrance and it ain't that far away, BR520, I like taking my time, sorry. The price for a 40 minute escape with one gal is 330, but if I am not mistaken they charge two of everything if you take two girls, including the room fees! So, for the cost, locals generally avoid the place like the plague. Like Termas 65 they aim for a selected and exclusive clientele, not regular Joes. However, local punters know where their reals go a lot further, and these two, they can't wait for them to go out of business. Highly unlikely, but wishful thinking.

With respect to 65, though, the price there for 1 hr is about the same as an hour at Monte Carlo (with undiscounted entry). With free entrada to MC it is maybe 35-40 reais more at 65. The issue is that 65 hasn't had stunners since April

When I first started going there, I always wondered why the place didn't get more press play because I always found some top-of-the-line talent there. My last trip last summer was the first time I was a bit disappointed with what I saw. Don't believe I sessioned with anybody, and I stopped by twice. I note that they did make some nice renovations though. I suppose it's like anything else. It all goes in cycles. For now 65 stays in my rotation. I would say that Centaurus is 100% out, except that one of my favorites of all time works there. Or, at least she did. When I'm with her, we makes LOVE! Hahaha! I think I would stop by just to let her know I'm in town, and then we could hook up at my hotel later. Other than that, forget Centaurus. You can find as good or better for less at many, many other joints.

I am in Rio soon and throught I may give BA85 a try for the first time. Which is the best floor to try? I recall reading comments about avoiding particular floors with the 4th floor being the best? Any advice gratefully received. Obrigado!

It depends if the casa has hot women working that day and whether they are occupied or not. All floors are about the same to me except the second floor that seems to be worse. Anyway, it's just a short walk to check out the other floors.

P. S Remember not to touch the railings in the stairs (they are greasy of disgusting body liquids).

I don't know how management of the Termas like Solarium, Centaurus, and Luomo can justify the insane price hikes. It's not the issue that I can't meet the expense of Centaurus but a day in Brazil cost $170 on average when I factor in the flight cost and rent. Paying $270 on top for 40 mins doesn't make sense to me. I banged two hot, young chicks from an agency in the US for $300 last night for two hours ($150 / hr / per chick). Why fly 8000 miles and pay a premium on top. However, I agree that budget banging could be done in Rio, such as, agency garotas or Centro aparts. To be honest with you, I don't care anymore how much Centaurus or Solarium raise their prices because I made a pledge of never set foot in there, as a result, it doesn't bother me at all. I do Luomo and MC once every week when the entry fee is waived.

Question about Luomo for those in the know: I'm a little unclear about their specials. On their website it says on Mondays you get R70 on any service after 7pm and R35 on any service after 7pm any other day. I'm just assuming that they mean you get a R70 and R35 discount respectively after 7pm. My question is can you get this discount even when get free entrance by arriving before 5pm. In other words on a Monday can I show up at 4:45pm and get free entrance and then wait till 7pm to session and get R70 off? If so that's a pretty good deal on a Monday.

In your formal training you have probably learned that prices should fall as demand gets weaker. It does not work like that in Brazil. A lower demand means they have to raise their prices in order to recoup from the 3 customers they have now what they lost from the 5 customers they had before.

I hear you, man. I have two great favorites that when we get together, they are as happy to see me as a I am happy to see them. It makes the trip worthwhile. Girls that have 10 gears and show you 20 when you are going at it. I will spend through the nose for that too. Luckily, they see me at my hotel or apartment when in town. However, I've been fortunate in that the price has stayed the same since I've met them years and years ago during a prolonged stay. Still searching for a few more jewels like that. It hasn't been easy, but there are a few more that I plan to add when I return soon and explore some new venues for some trustworthy nymphomaniacs.

The experienced Rio visiters will know this, but for any newbies reading. If you get a taxi from the airport to your hotel or apartment then.

1) Always ask the price before you get in the taxi.

2) Never believe the price.

3) Never believe the second price quoted.

4) Never believe the third price quoted etc etc. Any fixed price is never going to be in your favour.

5) Always make sure they start the meter, don't believe any crap about it not working or the fares have been raised and the meter has not been adjusted (yes, that was the case 6 months ago, but the meter in my taxi worked fine yesterday)

6) If in doubt, get out

7) Best to use a yellow cab taxi. As you leave the baggage claim area there are taxi booths who will harangue you for business. Ignore them they are too expensive. As you leave the airport, you will be accosted by taxi touts who will take you to their pal's cab and try to negotiate a rip-off price. Look for the yellow cabs and use them.

An example: I arrived yesterday, it was raining. My apartment is in Botofogo. The first guy I talk to tries to tell me it is R$99 to Botofogo!"good joke amigo" I say,"quanto e?". The price comes down to 80. I tell him that it is 50-60 reais to Copa so how can it be 80 to Botofogo. I walk away. The next guy tries to sell me a price of 80, then 70 reais. I explain that I know Rio and the taxi fares, it is 50-60 to Copa so why 70 to Botofogo? HE TELLS ME THE PRICE IS MORE BECAUSE OF THE RAIN! Good joke amigo say I. Eventually I get in a yellow cab, the guy drives off. But forgets to turn the meter on. Amigo say I, por favor. He "forgot" to switch it on. As this is my 7th trip to Rio I know the route from the airport to the top end of Copa via Botofogo so I know he takes me straight there. The price is R$47. This a little more than the R$40 I expected so I guess the rate has gone up in the last 6 months as it was between 50-60 to Prado Jr back in June

Just remember. Use yellow. Don't believe the price. Use the meter. If in doubt get out.
