You can also take the elevator up one floor to the departures. Catch a taxi that's leaving passengers. He's not allowed to take up passengers in that section, but if the guarda or fiscal isn't around he'll likely do it. Give him a decent offer and he'll be very happy to accept it.

Another other option would be taking the frescão, the Real A/C bus.

Taxi-drivers working at the brazilian airports are often greedy as hell. Rio, Manaus, Salvador etc are all the same.

Arrived at my apartment in Botofogo last night at 6. By 7 I was in a termas in Centro. MV30. For those of you who want more info, look it up in Bubba's guide or look up a short review I posted back in November 2010.

MV30 is classed (in the BB guide) as a level 2 terma in Centro, on what Bubba calls "the dark side" of Presidente Vargas. I like this place. Entrance is R$30. Sessions can be 30, 40 or 60 minutes long. I always go for the 1 hour session at R$195 and I didn't make a note of the prices for the shorter sessions. There have been a few changes since my last visit in July. The larger bar area that was to your left as you leave the changing room has now gone. There is only one bar now. The area which used to lead into the now closed bar now has seats and a big TV. Playing novelas and football when I was there. The remaining bar has been extended a little as the small booth where you used to go to register for a session has been taken out to enlarge the bar area. There is also a small pole dancing stage in the bar now but nobody used it whilst I was there. You now go back the entrance desk to register for a session. The music is extremely loud in the bar now which makes conversation difficult (the advantage of the 2nd bar, now closed, was that it was quieter and had some dark corners for some intimate pre-session warmups.)

There were a lot more girls here this time than my last visit in July. 25-30 for midweek. Everybody's taste in girls is different but I like the selection here. Bundas. A few skinnies but some curvy girls too. Viviane (aka popozuda girl) is still there. What an ass! Back in July I thought she was going to break the bed! Or we were going to go through the ceiling from the cowgirl action. She is also a very nice girl to hang out with, the only downside is that she needs to use mouthwash more often. There was also another good popozuda there last night. A mulatta with big tits as well. Last night I hung out with Renata and then sessioned. I've arrived on an overnight flight at 6 in the morning) , then I take the bus, its by far the cheapest, although it will take longer to get to Zona Sul.

I have never had an issue with taxis at the airport. Just be sure to avoid any taxi hanging around looking for a passenger, grab a cab that is dropping someone off and make sure the meter is turned on when you get in. The driver is happy enough because he gets a nice fare out of the airport. Currently about R$45 to R$55 on the meter.

BTW, I met Ghenkis Khan while he was in town, nice guy, we hang out a bit and had a nice and relaxed time. Which is my preferred pace. He even tagged a girl that has been on my watch list at 4x4 for a while, gave her the thumbs up. I think I may have to do business with the said lady tomorrow. Good times.

so is it no entry fee up until 5pm everyday? the revised website makes that impression. or just sunday no entry fee overall.

with their recent price increases what is the budget for two 40 minute sessions in a standard cabin (i used to love duplas in the big suite, but me thinks with the new pricing i can invest the reals better elsewhere on that kind of party)

Decided to go round some of the prives in RB156 today. Having done some homework on the internet looking at websites for each prive, I went round Centro Susy (Sala 1839) , Rosa's (sala 1932) and Luiza's (sala 1106) to see who was available before choosing. First stop was Centro Susy, Elisa is back working there and having turned her down 2 years ago and seeing a fine bunda walk out the door (and receiving some positive intel from other mongers) , I decided to make up for a missed opportunity. I asked about her and was told she would not be in until next Monday. Damn! . Got to see the available girls. There were about 5, can't remember all their names but Miuke and Camilla were two I can recall, both were pretty morenas. I decided to move on and tried Luiza's – here there was only one girl available there called Gabi – very pretty (I would go back to see her). I went there based on the photos on the prive website of Potira, but she no longer works there. Finally went to Rosas after seeing the photos of Dandara on the webpage – again about 4 girls available including Dandara but none I would have picked. I have had guys who had doctored their meters and that thing was spinning like the wheel of fortune. If you think the meter isn't working properly, your kinda screwed if you are on the highway, but let him know that you know it has been messed with and make sure he sees you writing down his I'd and License plate numbers.

I have seen it in other South American countries a lot more commonly. Anyway, if you speak decent Portuguese just make sure you stop at the Delegacia and walk on in and tell the Police about it. Chances are the cab driver will just drive off without collecting the fare.

I have to say I've never managed to get free drinks at T65. Was it something new? How did you learn about it? Normally they even charge me for my standard agua com gas.

The meter was ticking way to fast. I discovered that when the driver shifted gear he pressed a device and the meter made a jump. It was quite funny as it was so obvious what he was doing.

-Cartman[/QUOTE]I went in the Don Cafe instead of the termas at about 5-5. 30. They gave me two vouchers which I guess give you free drinks. I had aqua sim gas, which in T65 is one of those plastic cups rather than a bottle. The total cost was R$385.
