I arrived on Saturday and stayed in Miramar. I realized right away I needed to get closer to old Havana because of the rate of the taxis. By Monday I decided, I really didn't care for Cuba so was booking a flight to Colombia. My cousin said he would come on Wednesday so I said I'll stay the rest of trip. He arrives and I line up 2 chics from badoo. We agreed on 5 hours and for $60. They arrive an hour late, also I switched to an Airbnb in old Havana to be closer by this time. She said she lived in old Havana, walking distance but arrived an hour late. They come upstairs, we talk a little and we both go to our separate rooms. She's OK in bed, better than the first. After 2 hours she decides she wants to leave instead of honoring her agreement. I say I cause between her being an hour late and leaving early, I know she's a one and done. She then says can we take them to dinner and I tell her no because she said she wanted to leave early so that means she's leaving and not wasting any more time and money on her. She then asks for taxi money which I told her no because she lives close to here. The next day I get text from her about her mother's birthday coming up and did I have a credit card that I could charge stuff for her. At that I point, I blocked her. One thing I noticed immediately about the women I met there, they are worse than Dominican women who want more and more and are unappreciative. At that point I was ready to leave Cuba. I didn't bother with any more women there. People are friendly but the jinaterios are annoying. It's hot and miserable. It's a place where I just scratched off my bucket list. Not sure why guys really go there when there are so many other places to go where you don't have to worry about being in a place that's not modern. Old Havana is a dump. They charge you more than they charge the locals if they can. And I'm talking about in the stores as well. I'll go back to the Dr before returning to Cuba. Pretty girls but not worth it when there are so many other places to go. Colombia is still number one when it comes to having everything you need. I pay $40 an fuck twice and may pay taxi which is about $7 the most. In a casa, the rates are every lower. I'm glad I experienced Cuba but it is not a place for me. I would have felt like a clown if I offered these girls $100. A nut is a nut and paying more doesn't guarantee anything except. You paying more. And those of you who think you are helping them by giving them more money then why don't you just give them money without having sex with them if you feel like you want to save the world. That's more honorable than fucking them and justifying it by acting like you are doing something by giving more money. I couldn't believe how many chics there snow cigarettes. I sort of agree and sort of don't.

Havana is an interesting place. I've had some of the best experiences of my life. And some of the worst. It's a pretty bipolar place. Sometimes you get a girl who just arrived from the countryside fresh and doe eyed and you spend the weekend banging her brains out and welcoming her to the world. And sometimes you get an endless string of borderline con artists. And it's hard to figure out what you're going to get. It's not as predictable as a place like Brazil or Colombia for sure. But it has the benefit of being closer.

I have been to all the other spots you mentioned, but I got to admit, Cuba is still #1 in my book. It's the overall experience and how safe it is to me, compared to the other known Gringo destinations. It also maybe be that I have been to Cuba over 20 times, and it feels like coming back to my old stomping ground each time.

To be clear I never saw myself as a hero. My mentality has always been that I spend thousands of dollars to travel and when I arrive and interact with local girls I intend to be the clear undisputed priority while I'm there. I don't give what I can get away with. If a girl will be happy with 50 bucks, and it means literally nothing to me to give her 150, and I know she'll put that money to much better use than me (I will spend 150 dollars on a round of drinks or another pair of sneakers for my collection without thinking. She will buy groceries for herself and her extended family) I don't even think twice. It's easy to give that money and I do it with no regrets.

Including women you are causing the price to go up for everyone else. Cubans are amazing at sob stories. There all starving, etc etc. Take a look around. Did you see chubby or fat ones? Then give her the 100 or 200 at the end and just say the rest is a bonus or whatever because you had a great time and she did a good job. Otherwise you'll end up with bricks, I know it happened to me a couple of trips back. Live and learn, right?

They usually take a 5 CUP cut from the street rate. No big deal for you. Just make sure you know the going street rate.

CC use is available if your CC is not from the USA. Sometimes the issue is connectivity but certainly works at lots of tourist places. Again, you need to know what the exchange rate is before pulling the trigger.

You can usually pay with CUP most anywhere except certain MLC places which it's too complicated for me to explain. The issue paying with USD / Euro at most places is that you'll usually get shorted from the street rate. So, in case you have to pay with either currency or cc make sure you ask what exchange rate they'll give before doing any transaction and you're good with it. For me if it's 5 or 10 CUP difference I won't sweat it.

Why would anyone use a credit card to pay in CUP and get the official exchange rate? Get your brick of CUP so you can use it as wallpaper or lit it up during a blackout. Here same as in Argentina now, onshore use cash, any cash and don't get stuck with CUP on a way home.
