The problem with "drill, baby, drill" is that it results in a boom-or-bust cycle. OPEC controls what they produce. US producers don't. That's why many US oil producers, especially the smaller one, nearly went broke a few years ago. But maybe that's what you really want. Produce so much oil that oil prices drop to unsustainable levels and producers go bankrupt.

There is no problem delivering Canadian oil to US markets. Keeping saying the same thing that is demonstrably untrue does not win the argument. This oil isn't even going into the US market it is being exported. Canada by virtue of the type of oil it produces needs a hefty capital spend to lift production. No one wants to finance it because its the highest cost oil in the world and they have a requirement to reduce their greenhouse emissions which they will not be able to achieve. So the whole Keystone XL pipeline talk is irrelevant as there is no oil available to transport to the US above what is currently available.

The US produced 13 m bpd at its peak. Its currently about 11.9 mbpd. If 2 years ago it was possible to produce 2 mbpd it still is. If more pipelines will be needed in the future it is up to Texas not Biden. If Biden is the problem why are 60% of companies providing guidance that they are focusing on profits and dividends and not on increasing production? Because more production leads to lower prices and they shoot themselves in the foot just like they did during trump when 600 companies went bankrupt. This was happening before Covid, Saudis tried to bankrupt the fracking industry and dropped the oil price to a level that few producers could make money. While it might produce cheap gas for a couple of years it was always unsustainable and the industry isn't going back to that cycle when the can have high share prices, exercise their options and get big bonuses. Its just convenient to whine about Biden to take the heat off themselves.

History in the oil industry has always had a boom and a bust but usually 10-15 of stability in between the booms and busts. Right now the only solution to fix USA problem is to drill and get USA to energy stability. The world is watching a weak America now dependent on oil from our enemies. USA and Canada can make North America energy independent with drilling and added pipelines at a competitive price. Biden has made a commitment to green energy environmentalists to kill the oil and gas industries and the American people are paying the price. Biden is driving millions of people into poverty. Increasing drilling by 25% and fast tracking 4 or 5 new pipelines would get USA out of this mess within a year. Not doing it is going to keep USA with high gas prices for 3 more years. That is the reality. You may not like reality and you probably want to blame someone other than Biden but facts are facts and Biden is the problem.
