I was just doing some research before I hit Jakarta next week. I know from the reports here that Travel Hotel and Stadium are definitely going to be on my places to hit up. But I'm trying to find more info on where are the main spots where freelancers hang out? The area is controlled by mafia with *****houses and mamasans. Freelancers don't thrive in an environment like that. And South Jakarta sucks for *****houses, but has freelancers. So it just depends on your taste as to which area to visit.

However, you can find non working girls who will go home with you partying at Golden Crown. They are mostly party girls looking for guys to buy them drugs, but will go home with the guy who buys them drugs after they are done partying. Be prepared to invest at least 5 hours to get one of them home with you if you go there (usually until the sun comes up). It's not much different from Stadium except that it's much easier to pick up pretty girls to take home from there than it is from Stadium.

There are lots of people here on this forum better qualified to answer than me but I'll tell you of my experiences. So far I've been to Jakarta twice both times during Easter period. Each time was for about 10 days.

I suggest. * Dating sites DIA and Asian Dating. DIA is free but even though you'll write no Filos (no offense, they are nice but you're visiting Jakarta not their country) you'll get a lot of msgs you'll have to filter through which gets annoying. Asian Dating is a better setup but there is a cost of $60 for three months I think. Much better setup as they can only reply to you if you reply to them. The aim with these sites is to get two or three certainties before you get there. A lift from the airport from a local is very handy on arrival. Don't be shy in telling them what you want up front. Sure, some will block you but others will be mores than happy to accommodate your needs. After all, why waste time with a "maybe"?

* Hotels. Not sure how long you are staying but over ten days I've had my stay split between two hotels in different areas. This way, if a date gets too clingy you can drop her half way (I had a stalker once). No matter what anyone else says I like Blok M. After getting frustrated with other places I always find myself there at the end if the night if I didn't get take away from the other places. A great hotel close by is Gran Mahakam. The door lady refused to open the door for me on my last day there. I had too many friends coming in and out with me and I don't think she approved!

FX Harris Surdiman is good. A walk to Red Square which you have a chance of picking up a freebie or if that fails a paid one. I got the "public relations manager" Nena last Easter. Didn't want any money at all in the morning. I suggest only sat night at red square. Then the big hotels. I chose the Pullman because it was close to the big shopping centers. I also wanted to check out the much talked about immigrant bar. What a disappointment.

As for where to go, I'd really suggest hooking up with a Website date. That way you'll get to know the city better in the daytime too as they'll be more than happy to drive you around usually.

Just try not to get hooked on your internet date as it's easier than it sounds and has caused me all sorts of trouble in the past (thank god that's over!).

But before you do so, spend a few minutes to read the numerous posts here about Stadium, as there are some potential dangers at this places, including lots of drugs, stories about guys being given spiked drinks (not sure how true, but certainly a possibility) , and the higher-than-normal chance of this place being raided.

I highly recommend you consider a visit to Kartika Spa, which is three alleyways north of the alley where you enter Stadium. It's a bit run down but the service is superb.

Kartika is the place where you get a full body "nuru-style" soapy body massage, something that every man should experience at least once in their lives. Ideally, you should try a two-girl session although that is a little pricey. I think the house fee is 350, 000 or 400, 000 rupiah per girl for an hour, plus the expected tip is probably 100, 000 rupiah per girl.
