A Secret Sauna in these dark days
Well, lo and behold, the manager of a local Spa hit me up on WeChat last night and said Business as usual. I've not been to this one, but had added the manager for future use. Originally he had said 'Service to foreigners temporarily suspended' but last night the suspension was lifted.
The spa is located in an apartment building, and the manager came out to get me (after a series of SMS in which I strained Google Translate to the maximum). First, an elevator up to a residential floor, then into what appeared to be an apartment but after entering no less than two 'hidden' doors I found myself in a mini-sauna. No actual sauna facilities, mind you, just a locker room with one attendant then off to the room to wait.
The room is pretty good – huge bed, huge shower / water massage table room, mirrors everywhere. The line-up was brought to me, and I picked Wen Wen from Chongqing because of her face – perfect. Any of you guys ever been to the massage place in the basement of the building on Changhsu Lu in FFC, the one that has Fortune Cookie and Xibo? It's near where I live, so I go there often for regular oil massages. But no matter which masseuse I get, they always are slightly more playful and friendly with certain regions than at other massage places. And they almost always ask for my number or wechat info. And yet, in all the times I've gone there, I've never been asked if I wanted any 'extras'. So just wondering, is there something more going on at that place? Or am I reading too much into things?
