You are not staying. It is completely OK to walk into a bar and have a look. Then if you don't like what you see (its crowded, no other people, ugly girls, whatever) , walk out. Either there is a cover charge or this isn't. Period.

To each his own, but I don't buy anything if I'm not going to use it or in this case drink it.

I've been going to Bangkok for over a dozen years now, but have never been to Pattaya. I plan to pay a visit in November and would like a hotel recommendation. I would like something that is right near the action and girl-friendly. However, I would prefer a 4-star or 5-star hotel. I noticed the Marriott and the Hilton on the Internet. Any comments on those? Any other recommendations on nice hotels that are girl-friendly and near the action? I would also prefer something on the ocean with a nice beach. Thank you.

It must be tough making a list and not using your favorite word " Quality " but it was no surprise " Walking Street " was used. I'm not a drinker but I have visit every area in Pattaya and have wonder even on Walking Street early morning and throughout the day and evening how people can sit for hours drinking. But I can't read minds or lips to know exactly what they are talking about even on Soi Buakhao but I guess you can?

I have walked the stretch of Beach Road many times and stood on Walking St. Watching the girls stroll down from Beach Road. Once through the arch they change their price structure but their appearance hasn't changed a bit. Although Walking St. Is nice there isn't one area in Pattaya that has a exlusive lock on quality nor a area that people don't sit and eat and talk story.

It must be lonely locking yourself in one area and not open to meeting people except the ones you pay. I wonder along with others on this board why you even bother to come to Pattaya with such a general and narrow view of life here. Maybe you're trying to convince everyone that you are better than everyone else and trying to be something you will never be otherwise you wouldn't be here on this board or in Pattaya with the rest of us. I suggest you try one of the islands here in Thailand since the narrow space might be more in line with your thinking.

You can find beautiful Thai girls in a multitude of venues and the same beautiful Thai girl in a multitude of venues in a Year's time. You can also find all types of guys in a multitude of venues. Canyon[/QUOTE]First time, nothing actually on the Beach! Both the Marriort and Hilton is located on Beach Road but to get to the beach you have to cross the street. The Marriort is closer to Walking St. But the Hilton sit on top of Central Festival Shopping Center and has a better view of the beach if your room faces it. Can't go wrong with both of these choices.

Canyon[/QUOTE]The Marriott Pattaya is GF and just a few blocks from Walking Street in one direction and a few blocks from Devil's Den in another. It is where I usually stay when in town, but at best I can only rate this hotel a 4. 25 star hotel. The main thing they have is a great pool / garden area to relax during the day, a very good breakfast buffet with lots of fresh fruits, juice, western and eastern dishes, and the private back entrance right off beach road that leads straight into the garden area which allows me to discreetly bring my girls back at night. I just say high to the security guard as I walk in, he smiles and salutes me. I prefer the rooms in the 4 story annex adjacent to the pool / garden area and the back entrance because they are so private and have offer up a great tropical ambiance. Bring your girl back to your room at night one time and you will appreciate this layout too. So I suggest that you request one of those rooms unless you really want an ocean view. The higher floor rooms in the main building have the ocean view, are newer and seem to be in better shape, but I still prefer the garden rooms best.

I never stayed at the Hilton. I don't think I ever will. The rooms are probably very good, but its location is not that close to Walking Street like the Marriott and I am not a fan of high rise beachfront hotels. If you plan to spend more time on Soi 6, 7, and 8 then maybe the Hilton might work out for you. I have a Marriott Chase credit card so that is another factor for me in favor of the Marriott, but I repeat the things I like best about this hotel are the pool / garden area, the private entrance off Beach Road, the location and the breakfast buffet.

With Soi LK Metro on the rise (seemingly) , the property values are going up. Making the current owners life difficult might just be part of a bigger plan to get one's hands on that prime corner? I've met the guy in question at the Billabong and he's just a guy trying to make a living out there with the rest of the farang rats.

Thank you for the information, Natty and Little Big Man. The Marriott sounds good. The other alternative I'm considering is the Penthouse. I know it's not as luxurious as the Marriott or the Hilton, but I'm curious about trying a very hedonistic place with mirrors and all. However, I'm concerned that it may not have high enough standards and be a little worn. Can someone who stayed at the Penthouse tell him about the condition, the quality of the place and if the rooms are as erotic as they indicate.

Maybe the reason your self proclaim stats are so bad with Pattaya is because you travel and visit with such a narrow view and come to a quick conclusion to things by just speaking to a few other members. If things are so bad now by the time you come back again it should be for every 10 girls you won't want to fuck any of them this way we won't again have to listen to your narrow negativity again. Oh last, if you just want a BlowJob go there but I will save you the time there is no quality there!
