Hi guys, Am writing in to warn about the african ripoffs operating in Shinjuku. Its about the concept called hostess club. You have to pay 5000 to 7000 yen for 60 mins of unlimted drink and the touts promise you that the girl will sit next to you and you can play around with her, but it dosent happen, what happens is a string of money extraction with the girl asking you to buy her drinks which are horendously charged. And these nigerians touts will try to extract your credit card information thro the girl, she will ask your date of birth, and being more intimate she will ask your address. If you have a credit card, what usually happens is that you get drugged, and while you are knocked off your credit card is swiped and then in the early morning you are left outside knocked off your senses and the shop shut down. I was stolen of all my cash and my card was swiped for nearly 10, 000 $. When I went back the next day to clarify, I was threatened by them as they have yakuza links. You can't go to the cops as you would get into more trouble. In the end I want to warn all of you guys here by my bad and horrfying experience. Please beware of a club named Club Neverland. I would say never go there.

I concur. Never expect to get laid in a hostess bar, especially in Shinjuku! Their function is to have girls flirt with customers and that's it. I do like to visit hostess places on occasion, but only with Japanese friends as they know the places that won't rip you off or try to drug you. The massage place Free and Easy in Akaska has been a regular stop of mine for years (massage and HJ only). I think someone else was looking for the oppai bars, and they'll take you there too. The last one I went to was Princess. But I'm pretty sure you are going to need some level of Japanese before they'll take you to any of those types of places. As far as the hostess bars go, they've always seemed to be on the up and up, and the only time I felt a little odd was my first time when I let someone off the street take me to a place (which was more of a date club, and the only Japanese person in that place was the tencho). Actually, check that, I was pretty drunk on another trip and like an idiot again listened to a guy on the street who took me to another date club. That one had some pretty hot Taiwanese chicks, but at that time it wasn't what I was looking for. If you want a Japanese place, my advice is to not deal with anyone on the street. Although after reading these stories, my concern level is certainly a lot higher than it used to be.
