I forgot to ask her if they required her to show it, but I know that Philippine Airlines did require her to show the copies when she checked in for her flight to HK. It may be different for a domestic flight. I would call Cebu and ask if you can before she is left standing at the counter.

You have to read the fine print at the time of booking and it will tell you if the card is required when you check in. The intent is to prevent fraud and protect you and more importantly to the merchant, themselves. If consumers are allowed to book airfares with credit cards (as they were in the past) when the cards are not present it would lead to a larger increase in fraudulent charges as all I would need is anyone's card number and expiration date and in some cases CVC and billing address (you'd be surprised how easy it is to secure these) to make my booking. If a consumer disputes a charge with their bank, it is the merchant's responsibility to prove that the charge was valid. In cases where the card was not present when the purchase was made and the purchase was made in a name other than the cardholder or authorized user and the merchant never had possession of the card, the merchant will not only lose because the bank will reverse the charge, they also incur additionally chargeback charges from their CC processor. In other words, Cebu Pacific is protecting their business so they do not lose money and indirectly protecting you too so that others cannot fraudulently use your card. BTW, there are tons of DIA girls in Manila or you can fly to Davao.

Flown many times on Cebu Pacific and they always reqired I show the credit card I booked with. You may want to contact them.

As result I've flown (one of) my girls from Cebu on CP several times without any issues. The cc is hard to handle if you are in one place, she's in another and some check in crew is being particularly demanding.

No requirement to show a credit card, but she got a big surprise on luggage. For many of their cheaper tickets CP permits only one small carry-on and no checked baggage. Squeeze had to pay some exorbitant amount for one extra small piece. Fortunately she had some cash with her.

Make sure you check the baggage restrictions for the ticket class you purchased and communicate this clearly to the girl. If they're not frequent fliers they're unlikely to know this stuff.

They will NOT require to see the credit card at check-in, providing that the name on the booking precisely matches the name on my little fuckpig's ID card.

And this is because, when I booked, the web site validated the transaction with Mastercard SecureCode. The CP staffer said that if I hadn't been enrolled in SecureCode (or Verified by Visa) then they would have expected to see the credit card produced, and would accept a photocopy "at the check-in operative's discretion".

So it's all good. Skip Kost. Thanks for the tip about the baggage; I had forgotten to mention this to the young lady, who would doubtless have turned up with armfuls of bags for a three night stay, unless warned otherwise.

For past two years, I go there with a normal size hand carry trolley bag and pc bag. No one ever said anything. On this past trip I check in at Manila for flight to Taipei as usual. I said no baggage as I hadn't booked any. Just before Customs theres a gang of no less than 5 CP workers, surrounded me all jabbering " we must weigh your bag, weigh it now." I politely suggested they stop jabbering and that one not 5 should talk to me, perhaps calmly.

So they produce a domestic kitchen weighing machine and estimate my trolley bag weighs 10kgs. Nothing was said about the pc bag. So I have to go back to the check in counter with one of the jabberers where it took me 30 minutes to pay the excess of P 300. I asked them if it was realy worth all the hassle and the sheer cost of employing the jabberers for this princely sum. That went over their heads of course.

The gal who took my excess told me that they would take my bag at the flight departure gate and put big stickers said bag that said " hold at gate " etc. Presumably they were going to put my bag where they put the childs buggies etc. I merely covered up said stickers with my jacket when in got on the plane and nothing was said.
