This analogy is indeed perfect because it's exactly like that: BangoCheito never ate there yet he has a strong opinion on how the quality there can easily be met by some obscure unfamous restaurant in some ally. Same as with the top models, he never had one, never paid $300 or more for an hour yet he has a strong opinion on how you can find similar top models easily if you just look good, for a way better price. That's just not how this works and how markets work in general. Sure, mispricing and overpricing exist for sure, ugly chica's in Lleras might ask $300 for an hour too and you'll get a bad deal but that was not what we were talking about. He may actually be THE best chef in the world, or even ever. But he's ONE person. How many restaurants have his name on them today in 2024?

The whole thing is a scam, and it works because most people don't know quality. The majority of people who eat at those places go and eat there for bragging rights, and wouldn't know the difference if they were served dogshit on a plate!

I just recently posted a photo of what was available downtown in Medellíand for 120 k, and someone even said I might be overpaying! Which I thank him for; we should all be warning each other. That's one of the actual purposes of this forum! Helping each other get the same thing for less money, not snobby virtue signaling, which helps absolutely no one.
