So not only did they get rid of the wine cellar room girls at 350k, which was a bad idea, they've now upped the price for import chicks regardless of nationality at 2,000,000 a pop. To make matters worse, the quantity and quality of girls particularly from China has gone way down more than I have ever seen in the past 4 years. Looks like I won't be able to get the odd China doll anymore.

I haven't checked Alexis or Bunker yet, but my guess is they probably raised the price there too. Will have to check and report later.

Back in Jakarta for a few weeks and already had sticker shock. Girls and there are few of quality are now quoting me 800K, some even 1M for short time.

Wow has the prices changed that much.

At first didn't feel up to haggling but eventually had to as the going rate seems to be fixed. Negotiated down to 400k for short time, she stayed the night and then asked for me to help her out with her rent, so in the end I paid 800k.

Hopefully this w / e the choices will be a bit more delicious.

Plan to try out Hotel Classic if I can ever find it, will report later on.

Hotel Classic is in Pasar Baru, north of Harmoni but south of Mangga Besar, it is a big hotel complex within a shopping mall, it's well sign-posted and any Bluebird taxi will take you there. Basement is pricey and up market, second and fifth floor are basically warehouses. You should have no difficulty locating it and the services you require.

This is a soapy massage type place like in Thailand. It is easy to find with the directions provided in this forum. There are few places before it, and they tried to flag me down, but I continued.

Compared to the normal Indonesian girls in hotel Classic or Travel, girls here are on the larger side, I have to ask for a small (kecil) and the had one. I probably was the only customer around 8:00pm among 20 or so girls. Most were interested.

Massage and sex were excellent, and the only negatives were girls insisting on more tip and condom charge in the end.

Total Damage: 510k.

Price for all foreign ladies increased to 2. 35mil per pop. Even local ladies also increased to 1. 35mil. When asked why the increase, the reply from mamasan was due to drop in rupiah currency. Damn.

The real cost of sex in Indonesia for visitors, or those paid in foreign exchange is actually a bargin. The rapid depreciation in the Indonesian rupiah (relative, for example, to the US dollar) is a real factor (positive) for tourists to keep in mind.

First, for the record, I agree that 800k IDR is too much to pay, based on the existing market. Second, again for the record, what you pay or tip is none of my business, and what I pay or tip is none of your business.

Having said all that, the 800k IDR that the girls may be looking to get is about US$65 currently, but was US$88 and change in December 2011. A more realistic 'ask' of 500k IDR is worth about US$41 today, as opposed to US$55 two years ago.

I travel back and forth to Thailand and that US$65 is about 2k THB, which is probably on the high end of the fee scale for short-term arrangements, but not an unusual asking price. (And, I think, often paid.) So, Indonesia is currently 'on sale' for tourists. The hundred dollar bill brings about 1. 2 million at the money exchange, not 880k as in the recent past.

If it was true that you can pull "quality" girls for 400k short time and 800k long time, then I'd agree. But I don't see that in Jakarta these days. I would compare the quality of the blok m girls to the Beirgarten girls in Bangkok or the girls in front of Nana plaza. The gogo girls are more comparable to the girls you find in CJs. The prices in Thailand are cheaper than in Jakarta. Beirgarten and Nana girls go for 1000 baht short time and 1500 baht long time. It's the gogo girls who are getting 2000 baht short time and 3000 to even 4000 baht long time. A girl from CJs wants over 1 million rupiah even for a short time. The last time I was in CJs, I couldn't get a top quality girl to agree to go home for all night for less than 2 million rupiah. And even then, they were wanting to go home at 6am. It seems they are factoring the devaluation of the rupiah into their price because that is about 165 USD for the night (about 5000 thai baht).

I'm not surprised that the girl asked for a bigger tip, sometimes that would happen to me but it was always done good-naturedly. 100K is all you need to give as a tip. I've never had any problems as a result of saying no, so don't be afraid to leave 100, 000 rupiah and no more. Remember, most local guys would leave less than that as a tip.

Keep in mind that the girl doesn't get to keep most of the house fee (I believe they get to keep 80K or 100K) so they will always want to get a good tip. Plus, many of the girls here may only have one or two customers a day, depending on business. Since you were there around 8 pm and your session lasted an hour, there's a good possibility that you would have been the last customer of the night (unless she has an outcall appointment afterwards) , so she was motivated to ask for a little extra.

In the past, if I wanted a condom, they charged 10, 000 extra for that. I'm guessing because it was rare for anyone to want to wear a condom in those places. Nowadays, the norm is for the girl to come to the room with a condom of her own provided by the place. Then again, if you ask her not to use it, she normally will still bareback, but at least there isn't a condom fee for those who do want to use it.

Seems as though they expect that amount because they think I know the ropes. The first night I guessed I looked like a rookie in the bar, thanks dude.
