Cassie / Honky Tonk part II
I just finished typing the other part up. If you were there that afternoon, about sundown, you would know this harsh conversation. Three white american gents were sitting at a table near the street.
Few hours later I walk over to HT to see if they are there and buy them a drink. They are not there. I sit at the bar and order a drink. After a few minutes of chat, everything in the bar gets quiet. I look at the far end of the bar, near the street, and the cashier / mama and another lady are staring at me. Every girl in the bar is staring at me. Jesus something's wrong. Tall / ugly has come out of the back and she's staring also. Mama / cashier comes walking over (she brought me a drink two minutes ago) :
Mama: why you do that?
Me: do what.
Mama: make them girls do that.
Me: you are arguing for them? They are standing right there. If they have a problem, I am sitting right here. They are big girls?
Mama: why you make them do that? [the other woman at the far end of the bar, mid-30's, attractive, dressed well, too nicely, glaring holes into me]
Me: you sure you want to be the one to speak for the girls? I'm not sure what you're talking about, but they can speak for themselves?
Other woman far end of the bar: Answer her. Why did you make the girls do that?
Me: please be quiet ma'am. Or identify yourself.
Other woman: I am the owner of this bar. My name is Cassie.
Me: tell me Cassie, if you are the owner of the bar, why the girls told me in my room that the owner is away in Australia. And a man. Are you the owner?
Cassie: yes I am the owner.
Me: why are you letting the mamasan argue for these girls? [I walked to her end of the bar]
Cassie: sorry that. My mistake. I am the owner. I want to talk to you. Why did you make them do that? And why did you take their picture?
Me: they agreed to it. All of it.
Cassie: they tell me they did not.
Me: I came in last night and asked that one (pretty). She went and got this one (ugly). Said they are sisters and are 'comportable' to each other. I warned them not to do it.
Cassie: they say they not agree to that.
Me: I warned them last night and I walked away. They txt today and ask again. You want me to show you the txt?
Cassie [to the ugly one]: is it true? You say you did not discuss it with him before.
[no response from ugly]
Cassie: ANSWER ME!
The girl starts to chat bisaya.
Cassie: STOP! Speak English for the customer to hear it! Use your big words you're not child!
[ugly tears up in the eyes]
Cassie: Well?
Me: I warned them 3 times its not a good idea for sisters. Last night here in the bar. Again today in the bar.
Cassie [to ugly]: Is true? Talk to me!
Me: Also in the room they tell me you are a man. And you are in Australia. Are you the owner? Or is the owner in Australia?
Cassie: No I am the owner.
Me: so they are liars? Also I asked them 3 times in the room that we should come here and speak to the mamasan. They tell me she is just cashier and cannot refund. Is this true?
Cassie [to ugly]: is it true? Did you tell him that? Did he ask you to come back here?
[no response]
Cassie: Did the girls give you money?
Me: yes.
Cassie: You should give it back to them.
Me: sure. You will agree to refund the barfine then. Everyone's even. Also in the room I ask them 3 times to take the money back and come here to chat the mama.
Cassie. Thinking about this.
Cassie: No. Let them suffer for this. They both did this.
Me: I will keep the money then. No real service performed.
Cassie: And the pictures. You delete them. Its illegal to take a naked picture of Filipina. I can call the police.
Me: Never heard of that before. But the girls could be confused as paid models. They agree to it in the bar.
Cassie [to ugly]: its true?
[no response from ugly]
Cassie: [to ugly] we talk it before. You remember? Last week when you get here we talk about it. Never agree to any customer request if you still in the bar! You know that! When you agree to some things in the bar for that customer room you obligate yourself and the bar to it. Maybe I have to send other girl to complete if you cannot? You hear me?
At that point Cassie turned her attention to a small book, a ledger of some kind. She was standing right next to me. I think that was her way of saying she was done with the matter.
Me: we done here?
Cassie: yes. Delete them pictures. Don't come back to my bar.
Me: should not be a problem. The place is filled with liars.
I walked off, a bit shaken from the experience, and I forgot to pay for the drink.
