Well, after a little diversion, I'm back in the mongering business. I had a girlfriend (asian, but American born), but she just left for America for good. To be honest, it was a nice change for awhile. But now, mongering never felt so good.

Just a comment about Sayuri and tits. The other day I was at Pandora, and one of the girls (#20. Je-ahb) mentioned that Sayuri was known to have girls with bigger tits on average. I thought that was interesting because that was consistent with what I had seen as well. Sayuri is great for the price (1, 000 baht) and selection (when you go at the right time. The only thing I don't like about Sayuri is that it does get crowded. Many times, there are more guys than chicks. This is why Pandora, Ping Payon, Nancy, etc appeal to me despite the higher price. I like walking in being the only guy with about 10-20+ girls.

I went to Bubbles on Saturday night. Didn't really find anything. The more attractive girls had already been taken. Incidentally, I recognized and talked with a girl that I had fucked a few times at Sayuri.- she works a day shift at Sayuri (2PM. 12AM), and then she makes her way to Bubbles. Wow, hard working girl.- great attitude. Then I wondered how many other of these Bubble girls are similar.- they get fucked 5-6 times during the day, and then look for LT at night. Geez, she did look a little tired, but was still smiling. What are the better night clubs for mongering these days? Mandalay? Forte? V Club? Bossy?

Since I didn't really see anything great looking at Bubbles, I moved across the street to a Karaoke bar that I had never been to. I've lived in Chiang Mai for a couple of years now, and for the life of me, I still can't figure out this scene. There are some AMAZING looking girls singing and swaying there hips. EVERYONE in the joint is Thai sitting and drinking. Customers send up money necklaces (300 baht to 1, 000+baht! ). In return, the girls come and talk to the customers and the customers buy her lady drinks. I noticed 2 tables of Thai men shelling out lots of baht, and several ladies coming to talk. Then, I noticed the Thai men, pay the bill AND LEAVE. WITHOUT the girls? Why make such a huge investment. To talk? Of course, I understand that if you "make a good impression", she may go home with U. But it just doesn't seem like a "sure thing". When I shell out any amount of baht.- I'm spoiled in thinking that there WILL BE a return on my investment. When I look at these gorgeous chicks wearing almost nothing, I find it hard to believe they are not selling sex. Am I wrong? Am I too spoiled? Are these girls really just performing to get tips and money necklaces and to talk? Is there a method to this madness? Can someone explain? Now, keep in mind, this Karaoke joint shouldn't be confused with other Karaoke joints that you pick a girl of your choice then get a private room.- those are easy scores. But this type of Karaoke joint has a stage with various girls taking turns singing (I. E. Nancy Karaoke bar, New Star Palace, etc.). Any help would be appreciated!.

I will be in CM soon. Last time I stayed at the Diamond Riverside. It wasnt bad. I liked the location. It was a short walk to the night market. I found a neat outdoor restaurant near the hotel called the White Orchid. Can someone tell me the name of another hotel or two near the night market of fairly good quality? Also does anyone know if the White Orchid is still in business?

Seems like this is the subject of most interest right now.

D2 is the best hotel in the area (other than The Chedi I suppose) -- but a little pricey at 3,600+ baht per night on average.

The Central Duangtawan Hotel is without a doubt the best quality for your money at about 1,200-1,600 per night during this time of the year. The nicest pool and weightroom for a hotel in Chiang Mai. And its right across the street from the night bazaar.

Slightly higher in price is the Imperial Mae Ping or the Royal Princess Hotel -- very nice, and right in the middle of the night bazaar.

Slightly lower in price and quality but right dab in the middle of the night bazaar is the Suriwongse hotel (old hotel) and the Royal Lanna Hotel.

But yeah, if you can afford it, go for the D2 hotel -- it's new, sleek and right there in the night market.

Nancy -- in the President Hotel. Down a soi towards the northeast corner of the moat. Most tourist maps will show you the President Hotel. The massage parlor is attached to the hotel along with one of those Karaoke joints that I had a question about in one of my previous posts. Haven't been there in awhile, but from what I rememeber, it doesn't start having chicks until after 5-6pm (unlike Sayuri).

Ping Payon -- this is also attached to a hotel. It's down Suthep road (west of the moat). If you start from the moat on Suthep road and travel west, pass Nimeheiman (sp?), the hotel will be on your left (you'll see some signs in Thai, but with some icons that make it apparent there is some P4P action). Here, there will be about 4-6 girls right at 2pm.

Again, both of these MPs are bit more expensive than good 'ol Sayuri, but then again, your chances of a "more GFE" experience increases.

The Duang Tawan Hotel on Loi Kroh is very nice, with reasonable rates starting at about $50, and a great buffet restaurant on one of the upper floors overlooking the city. It is also close to the Night Market.

Thanks to all. Great information. Its rather difficult to find on the internet hotel list for CM. Some hotels I suspect never get on the list.

If you can live without a swimming pool, I really like the Raming Lodge, a quite new boutique hotel near the end of Loi Kroh road by the Taphae Gate. While it's about 1 KM further from the Night Market than the DuangTuan and the Imperial Mae Ping, it's right next to a cluster of lady bars that are one of the best sources of talent in Chiang Mai. Their listed rates are slightly higher, but I've generally paid around 1400 Baht/nt, and never had any problem bringing a friend back to my room. The only bad reviews that I could find about this place trashed it because of it's convenient location near the lady bars - while I'd suspect that readers of this forum might not consider this to be a shortcoming.

I stayed here briefly in September of 2006, but left because I was frustrated with their internet connection in the rooms. the staff seemed unable to address it.

I liked the rooms and I think I paid 900 Baht. I would return when they correct the broadband problem.

With all the internet cafes charging 1 baht per minute or less in Thailand, I never travel there with a laptop anymore. There are at least 3 of them within 50 yards of the Raming Lodge, so I frankly didn't care a bit about in-room broadband access.
