And I agree with your assertion that Germany is just different. It is definitely not a police state, though. In many respects the police is more restricted in their actions towards citizens than in the US, and the normal citizen actually has more rights. Germany cannot hold its citizens without a trial, for example. However, police is supposed to have the ability to check your ID. Also, if you are living at some address in Germany for an extended period of time, you have the obligation to register with the police. (All of this was put into law after WW2, by the way, under American guidance.)

Sex trafficking is a huge problem in all of Western Europe. And Dedalus is right, magazines and newspapers write about it all the time. I just read a harrowing tale in “Stern” about a girl from Ukraine being forced into prostitution. It made me feel like cutting the dicks off the guys who did it, too.

FKK clubs try to stay clean of that kind of activity. But the police checks occasionally that they comply. And the demise of Atlantis shows that it really does happen. The keyword is "citizen", sure the average German in Germany has a lot more rights and protection than the average American in the US. If you're a scheisse Auslander you definitely have to be careful with what you say or do because you don't have the same rights as the locals. I enjoyed a session with Olympia from Romania very much back in September. I had arrived at the club early before a late flight out of Germany. I had spent a week at World, Oase & Palace. For what it is worth, I was taken to the police station during Oktoberfest after a little "misunderstanding" in the Beer Hall that evening. (nothing serious really) I spent a total of about 2 hours in the slammer until they sorted out the "misunderstanding" but they did relieve me of my posessions and put me in the "cooler" for that while. (I needed the rest after what seemed like 5 liters of beer)

The only ID I gave was my USA Driver license. No problem with them. In fact aside from all the beauracracy the German Police were a very nice bunch of guys. They never asked for a passport.

The only problem I did have was that they forgot to give me my license back with all my other things.. so I had to make arrangements to get it returned, which I did.

I am not carrying my Passport on me anywhere in Europe when I am socializing. If they want to see it so much they can escort me back to my hotel and let me retrive it from the safe in my room. This was not my experience though. I hope this helps. Just one man's experience.

I have been going to Palace and Oase for quite some time and havent hooked up with a MMF 3some but on the last night I was there, the night of the last raid (no big deal, just sat around for 2 hours till the cops left) a couple European guys who were having a wild time I met during the raid invited me into what became a 4 some they set up. mmmf. Sorry it took so long after the event to get this report out.

I was at Palace when the Polize invaded. The place was packed and humming when they came. I had just finished a session when they came. They pretty rapidly and firmly herded the women into the upper bar area and the men into the lower food area. They then escorted the women 1 at a time to their lockers to check their ID. Tbe men got in line at the reception desk to have their ID's check.

All in all the cops were VERY friendly. There was quite a bit of confusion amongs the non German men regarding what we are to do. It turns out that the men who wished to leave could put their clothes on and have their ID checked on the way out the door. Quite a few men decided to leave. The rest of us stood around in our towels trying to figure out what to do. There was confusion regarding whether we had to have our Passport or whether other ID's would be accepted. Turns out that they took all forms of ID. Passport, drivers licence, even student ID's. After your ID was checked and logged a cop would escort you back to your locker to secure your stuff and then escort you into the bar area to wait, and wait and wait.

I was told by a cab driver later that they did find one girl who was Romanian(?) but had a forged Greek passport. She was cuffed and taken away.

After about 2 hours the cops thanked everyone for their patience, the girls and guys applauded and cheered and off they went. It took about 30 minutes for the place to get back to its normal vibe.

All in all it wasnt a bad experience. I got to hang with some other American guys and share experiences which I normally dont get to do.

As for the raids/passport issuen just keep in mind that the profile the police would be interested in would be either a wanted criminal (seems to happen rather regularly according to the papers here) or an illegal immigrant (which are mostly non-EU Europeans from the southeast or east plus some south-americans and africans).

So, I'm pretty sure anything that shows you're from the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Canada, the US or Japan should do fine in any routine ID check. Being German, I have used my gym member card or "BahnCard" (Rail Ticket Pass) as an Ersatz-ID, they did not like but I stayed polite and offered them to get it a my place at which point they said its ok we got a job to do. OTOH if you are from, say Albania or Moldavia it might be a good idea to have your passport with you.

Sucks, but thats not he cops fault. Most of them are nice guys who might even envy you bit in a positive way (I have met a few cops socially and they were pretty open-minded folks. Heard some nice stories about parties at police training grounds, but thats another story).

Also keep in mind that he way the laws are enforced varies quite a bit by the Länder, as a rule of thumb, the more north or west you go, the more tolerant and common sense you can expect the police to do their job. Hmm, I'm not from the US, but isn't it kind of the same there?
