Yes, not much of a comparison; however, it's still necessary to put the information out there. Because, tastes and P4P ranges vary for both the DR and Rio, sexual appeal and pussy prices will not be compared. Pussy can be bought for US$15 and US$100 in both countries and there are plenty of photos on the internet to give guys an idea of what's out there.

That said, Sosua is not a good proxy for Rio; however, "Classicos" disco is a good proxy for "Help" disco (just a smaller version.) If you like Help disco in Rio, you'll like Classicos. Nevertheless, there are some issues with Sosua and with the DR.

6. NO COUNTER. Car rental's are $35-$80/day (depending on time of year and make.)
*7. If leaving from NYC, direct flights are 3.5 hours.
*8. [b]North Coast[/b] lodging and food are cheaper than Rio. (ex. 2-bedroom villas w/ private pool for US$105.)

There are no direct flights from nyc, only from Newark (Continental).

1. Sosua is 1 hour and 40 mins flying from Miami. Brazil is down by the Equator.

2. Spanish is spoken in the DR. Many of us speak Spanish--Spanish is spoken in many countries and by many people in the US, so is worth learning. Portuguese is spoken in Brazil--most of us don't speak it.

3. Sosua Beach is a pleasant place to spend a few hours, eat a meal, have a drink, and watch the people go by. It has great views across to the mountains behind Puerto Plata. If you want a broad, sandy beach for $1you can take a local taxi to Cabarete 5 miles away.

4. Although the girls may be "less professional" than in Rio and may perform better with some clients than with others, this is what many of us like--it is called spontaneity.

5. It is true that most Sosua girls don't favor anal sex, but what has this to do with sexual experience? I don't like anal sex and I have plenty of experience.

6. The closing of the bars and discos at midnight on weekdays is an inconvenience, but if you are a serious alcoholic you can always stock your hotel room with liquor.

7. Sosua is conveniently small. You can walk everywhere and never use motorized transport. It has a good selection of decent restaurants and bars, Internet cafes, etc.

8. Sosua doesn't have the brothels and termas that Rio has, but then again, there is a good selection of girls and you can have sex with as many attractive young women as you like, so what do you want?

I am sure that Rio offers the visitor a fantastic experience, but I'm not sure there is any point comparing it to Sosua. However, I have no doubt that if your pursuit of happiness revolves around anal sex and round-the-clock alcohol, you will be happier in Brazil.

BB's IS a hotel, not "officially" a brothel, -they will point out that they don't employ the girls, that they are "independent contractors" which they screen and permit to ply their trade there.

Sosua (about) 20 miles, 45 min. by taxi ($40US)
ST 1300 pesos, TLN/overnight about 2500 pesos.
The Costambar beach (small, islolated, but nice, not as busy and commercial-dominated as Sosua) is about 5 minutes walk away.
Yes, you can go just to drink or eat. Some locals do.

Girls total around 40-45, though don't expect them ALL to be there at the same time, nor wasting their time hanging around if there are no guests present at the time.
One can discuss their desires with Charo (mama-san) or her assistant to call a girl from home if the selection at the time isn't sufficient.
One can also "bring your own" from outside as long as they can produce an ID and haven't been banned from the place for some reason.

Any action down that way.

Yes you can just stop in for a drink to check the place out. If available they have been known to rent rooms for ST only.

Rocky's is chica friendly.

The Town of Cabrera is located in Sanchez Province, on the northeast section of the country. I've driven thru it 2x on my way out to Samana, can't say anything about it particulary sticks out in my mind. I have found that depending (of course) on your ability to converse in Spanish [b]"our type of activities"[/b] are available in almost every single town in the country! Its much more available in some places then others and depending on the specifics of your trip (wife's with you, have the kids, only have limited time free) you may not want to waste alot of time "digging" around and searching.

Don't go east from your hotel but rather west back towards Sosua/Cabarete. If you travel further east, all you're going to see is the dilapidated Town of Sanchez, and Samana (alot of digging) Bars, mp's are all over Sosua and have in-call, or out-call options for you. You could drive from Cabrera to Sosua in 40 minutes. You could probably do it even quicker but that road is notoriously always "washed out" and as I recall it (at times)it has potholes so big you could loose a Volkswagen in one. ;)

You should probably direct specific questions about the Town of Cabrera to the "other areas" thread as it is really not all that close to Sosua. Too, I'm going to go out a very long limb here and assume that you meant Boca Chica? (Never heard of Boca Rica) (lol) ......Boca Chica is on the south coast, quite a drive from your hotel and truly not worth it!

I am at La Catalina beginning the 13th. Golfing Playa Grande. Happy to team up for a trip or two to Sosua.
