Have not been there yet but thought I would past along what I found out from friend that lives in SR that use to run tours in PP. Since so many members have asked about this I thought preliminary info might help until I get there and can provide full report.
Go down to the waterfront across from the Paragon hotel. Grab a boat and tell them you want to go to Kens Vie. He recommends taking the New Paris 2. Use to cost about $5 per hour to rent boat. They will take you down to a bunch of house boats on the river. You can apparently also take a taxi down to some Buddhist Wat on the river and they are on other side. I guess the most important point is to ask for Kens Vie.You go inside and order meal off of the menu. Girls will serve you. If do not like the particular one you get ask for another. When you get done with meal the girls hopes you will select her for a private session. He personally recommends the girl on boat 666 with the reddish hair and pigtail. No telling if still there but worth the suggestion. He also recommended boat 552. Says girls use to cost $10 but who knows now

[/QUOTE]That's something I haven't tried yet, I know there is plenty of action across the river but I haven't ventured there because I really don't know where to go. I guess it helps to have a local guide. Maybe Sovanmee knows more about it. Definitely will check it out on my PP trip Jan 25-31.

I have been in PP a few times, and the only one of these I've seen is Casa. How do these other places compare to Casa? Is there anything that would make the higher end places worth visiting?

Finally, where are these places?

Thanks![/QUOTE]I think that X2 and XO are franchised, there are several of them but there is only one rock. I have been to rock and it is an incredibly loud khmer disco for rich kids.

If you have no Khmer language skills I think that you would be wasting your time at these joints and may even get into serious trouble if you were to accost the girl of some rich / connected / milttary / police Khmer.

As for kien svay, it has been cleaned up. The girls may be still available if you were to aks for them, but they are not as obvious as they were.

Thanks for that. I had the impression before that XO and X2 were karaokes, but it sounds like that might be wrong.

But does anyone know where they are? That is what I'm mainly trying to find out. Or some way that I could find out (phone book? I don't see them in the Canby guide)

I think someone else, not me, was asking about Kien Svay -- that's nothing I'd be very interested in. Different strokes though.

I am a new member here and am visiting PP for the first time. I spoke to couple of drivers and all of them are quoting 30 - 35 USD for 10 hour in the city.

I will be arriving into PP on 4th and will staty there until 8th jan'08. It will be pleasure to meet you for a beer.

I just got back from 4 days in Phnom Penh and here are a couple of observations:

Sophies - Always a moving target, this place was not so good this time around, Mikado had a much better selection of girls.

Cyrcee - This is the easiest and best no nonsense bar in Phnom Penh in my opinion at the moment. Great selection of girls, take them up to the room upstairs or barfine them out, great attitude and great performance. I took a girl called Janto upstairs on the first night. She was absolutely great. Then on the scond night I bar fined a girl called Phuong (I think that was her name) and she was absolutely top shelf in performance and with a great ody and very atractive face..ver happy.

Martini's - Business as usual with plenty of girls, reasonable selection but nothing really oustanding although that will always depend on timing.

Sharkeys - Same same as Martinis but not quite so straightforward and seems like you have to put a bit of effort into catching a girls eye and then negotaite a deal with here generally while eveyone is watching on (particularly if they are playing pool). Reminded me a bit of trying to pick up girls in Gullivers in Bangkok, similar sort of situation.

Heart of Darkness - After 1am this place is heaving and seems to be the place where all the girls come to after the normal bars have closed. If you havent found what you are looking for before 1am then chances are you will find it here.

Street 63 - Plenty of venues but need to be careful with your money. No real problem if you keep your pants next to the pillow on the bed though and do not let them out of your sight at any time. Loads of nice looking Viet girls but performance varies a lot. I used these venues every day and didnt have any problems as there were 2 of us and we were both very careful about keeping an eye on the wallet. Used a number of different places but the best one was the last one on street 63 on the right hand side as you are heading in the direction away from the morning market. I did not note the cross street unfortunately but it is probably 2 kilometeres past the area on 63 where 3 or 4 places are congregated together.

Driver: If you want a really reliable and trustworthy driver then try Jack. He is very well known and is always outside Sharkeys from 6pm onwards, all the drivers know him and he has a card with his name on it if you are in doubt. The card actually says his name which is Savoeun.

Man, you cannot beat those Vietnamese girls, they are the absolute best when it comes to taking a pounding. They can take it as hard as you can possibly give it and just have a completely passive look on their face. Fantastic

Many of the DVD vendors in the "New Market/Central Market" and "Russian Market" have adult DVDs.

XO Club KTV is located at, No 85 A, Street 163.
Prince Harry is correct. It is high end, girls are $75-$100 IF they decide to go with you and you need a high end friend to get the deal done. There are multiple private Karoke rooms for rent. The mamasan brings in girls. You usually take 2 for each person. Then these 2 help prepare your drinks as usally there are a couple of hostesses that help with this also. The 2 girls with you also help you to eat when dinner or other type foods arrive. Think like you only use your hand to roam a little and to take a drink.

Are the girls there much better than in the expat type spots (Martini, etc.)? When I say better, I mean prettier/younger/more attractive.

I had a chance to see the 'stock room' at Casa one night, it looked like it was 60-70 girls in there at one time, leaving in lines to go to the different karaoke rooms to do a lineup for customers. But this gives me a reference point: are the ones in these other places a good step up from what's available in Casa? (Casa didn't blow me away, by any means) Or about the same?

In that place, it seemed as if take-out was available at the customer's option -- 'up to you'. It sounds like that's not the case in some of these places though.

Yes, in the places like XO Club etc.. they are prettier, younger, and more attractive. Even the beer girls (the ones serving drinks) are prettier. The girls are not pressured to go home with an ex-pat or tourist and will generally cost a min of $70 if they do decide to go home with somebody. Though I got one as a semi girlfriend (did not report it here) who after awhile came over after work at night sometimes for less funds. But again, I was introduced by a Khmer etc....
