Tuesday night at hotel Cascada's reception, 8 young American guys were checking in ahead of us, paying for their $160 rooms with big rolls of $100 bills. With exchange rate and fees, 1,000 pesos is probably about 55 dollars.

I agree with you completely. HK is a good place to warm up, have fun, flirt and grab hot, sexy senoritas to start the night. Last time I stayed overnight in the Hotel Coahuila (above Adelitas Bar) was during the summer about a decade ago. I think the room cost back then was maybe $30 and a $5 key deposit. You were expected to tip the desk clerk one dollar for each chica you brought up, to which the clerk issued one fresh towel, one condom and a small bar of soap. On my last overnight stay there I did a threesome with SG Guadalupe and a really thin 2nd SG. In fact, that stay, I took up around eight different street girls and not one bar girl from Adelitas. The desk clerk didn't approve of that ratio and told me IIRC "no more street girls / paraditas".

That's why it was my last overnight stay in Hotel Coahuila. But as I recall, about a decade ago, there was air conditioning inside Hotel Coahuila. Not the stuffy air being reported currently.
