I'm arrive about 10 PM Sat night in Bangkok. I imagine about an hour to get out of the airport so if it's around 11:00 or so, what are my options to get to Pattaya? Is a cab my only option? Can anyone make some recommendations? Thanks.

Still, it never hurts to get suggestions for new spots IN Pattaya, that are less known. As I have learned over the years, there are a lot of places you can go to in Pattaya and on the out skirts of Pattaya, that you will never know about, unless you ask!

By the city being "slower" what do you mean? If a bar is having a slow night it means not much business. This means fewer customers. With the world economy being down in recent years that should not surprise. Add to that the special problems of Thailand since 2006 in coups, airport closures & scams, red yellow shirt deadly protests, etc and one should expect tourism and business to be down. And so it has been.

Does this mean the laws of supply and demand no longer apply? That the number of pooners is not still in the same proportion to the number of hookers?

Another poster, Daddy07, claimed that things are getting better and better over the last five years. I look forward to him elaborating on why he thinks that is true. Is this speaking of SWs, Gogo's, MP's, or what? Could it be that none of us are omniscient as to any of these realms and that all any of us have is only a small single bite of a huge watermelon as to what any of these scenes are like.

As for stunners, I suggest that may correlate with the same. Fewer customers may mean fewer girls, hence fewer stunners. Furthermore stunners tend to be higher earners & get out of the business quicker due to retirement or making millions of baht. Their children would be more likely to be stunners, but less likely to become hookers since their rich mommys would take care that that does not happen. Consequently this is one of a number of factors that pushes all of LOS towards decline as time passes, at least as far as stunners is concerned. OTOH with the world economy declining recently and in Siam especially, due to reasons I've mentioned above, this would tend towards a push for pumping other stunners back into the profession. As poster Daddy07 alleges, there are new arrivals regularly.

Regarding being constantly "more expensive" you make a great point re the Baht falling from 40 to the USD down to what is now below 30. That is a huge factor in value being lost in travelling to LOS. At least for the US citizen. But how does that compare for the rest of the world? And what about times before that. Did I not read somewhere of a time when the USD only got 10 baht?

Further re Pattaya becomimg "more expensive", is this not the case everywhere in the world over the last 5, 10, 20, 30 years. It's called inflation. So we see in the last few years that Gogo's in BKK are pushing ST prices up to 2000 Baht. I read here on ISG the same is happening in Pattaya. Why is this happening? Besides the possibility of inflation there is the theory that Thais tend to increase prices when business is slow to compensate for the lack of sales. All that aside it could be the cost is going up for johns because the cost of doing business {rent, utilities, etc} is going up, or gogo businessmen believe they can get away with it, based on the gogo's reputation, hype re safety vs FLs, the offering of nude or semi nude shows, etc.

Are you suggesting Pattaya is only "great" when bars are packed every night? Of course there is more to the Pattaya P4P scene that just bars. What about MPs, Gogos, SWs, FLs? Furthermore if I walk into a bar as the only customer amongst 10 ladies including several hotties, to me that is far greater than what you describe and does not have to indicate a decline as far as my enjoyment is concerned or the ability to get a stunner. That illustration is comparable to the NEP SW scene in BKK now where the prices are the same as back in 2007, typicly 1000 baht ST. Furthermore, if anything, their quality in looks is up, there are more stunners, and service is better. This is speaking from my own personal experiences, having spent a total of about 2 years in the capitol since mid 2007, or an average of around 5 months per annum. But perhaps things are different in Pattaya, eh?

Lastly, it appears that all those who expressed opinions on the subject here in the past week believe Pattaya to be the greatest show on earth, regardless of their view on whether or not Pattaya is in a state of decline or demise, whatever specificly that is meant to convey. I'd love to check it out sometime, but for now am quite content in the City of Angels. Maybe if I retire in the Kingdom one day, I'd try six months in each. How does that sound. Deal?

Go up to the departure level and get a taxi that just dropped passengers. Make sure is a large new Toyota and offer him 1. 000 baht plus toll money. Tell him to use the highway and that you will pay for the toll. Otherwise he might go under it in order to save some money.

1) Take a cab; between 1000 - 1200 Baht.

2) Take the train and metro to Soi 63 Ekkamai Bus Station (approx 100 Baht?). Then take the bus to Pattaya (approx 120 Baht). It seems the Airport Express Bus to town has been terminated. I believe that the train/metro closes around midnite.

Cab will take less than 90 minutes. Metro and bus combo will take at least 3 hours.

Based on your original questions and comment and the time you were arriving at the airport there is only one option and that option is to take a taxi even if you have to spend 1500 baht from the taxi stand.

If you using the theory that time is money? Then you certainly wouldn't take the train and go to Ekkamai since you are going the wrong direction from Pattaya. And even if you did this once at Pattaya you got to transfer again to get to your hotel. So when you add the cost (whatever) to Ekkamai, bus to Pattaya, Songthaw? To your hotel you have lost a alot of time / time you could be taking a shower and cleaning up at your hotel and getting laid which I believe was your main objective. Add all the above and if you have luggage just get a cab sit back and relax and get to the action.

Having made my first trip to Pattaya last year, and my next coming up in a week, I'm going to check out the scene outside Walking Street. It's a fun venue, no question, but tends to get old after a while. The go-go's have the better looking girls, but I prefer the beer bars where the girls tend to be more attentive and playful. To each his own, as the saying goes.

you have to understand that my situation is much different perhaps than that of a sex starved casual tourist visiting pattaya for a week or two, looking for action 3 times per day. i'm an older retired expat with limited sexual powers now and am more than satisfied with 4 or 5 sessions per week – far more pops than i ever enjoyed as a young and middle aged married man in the states.

i've acquired a short list of regulars who satisfy my all requirements and take very good care of me sexually – i get a lot more than i can handle. so i'm not desperate to find new talent every day. sometimes i wish they would stop calling me so often so i wouldn't have to keep telling them 'no, not today, honey. ' i love women, but always in small doses; not looking for girlfriends, and i never go long time.

i no longer need to troll beach road for my next piece of ass, but i still see lots of cute young girls looking for customers there rep001tered about among the not so cute ones. i'the have no trouble finding one in a short time if the need arose. pattaya is crawling with them, just as it was in 2006 during my first visit to the los. some of my best regulars were br girls.

i usually get my satisfaction in the daytime when my regulars call me to ask if they can come to my room, so when i go out at night for a few drinks and entertainment i'm not looking to get laid but only to look. i never tire of looking at beautiful young girls in the full flower of youth dancing naked or nearly naked in front of me while i relax in a comfortable air-conditioned go-go bar. new stunners are seen and enjoyed constantly.

now and then i might barfine a special one who becomes a new regular. once they become regulars, there are no bar fines and they're always happy to provide their services at a fraction of what they might charge a first time customer. there are plenty of stunners in the soapy mp's too, but why bother when i can get stunners far cheaper elsewhere. i don't like beer bars because there is no entertainment; the girls don't get naked, and generally they are not as pretty.

before the go-go's open, i like to have a drink at one of the small walking street bars where i can sit back facing the street and watch the people go by, especially the hundreds of young girls arriving for work. i'm never disappointed. this is where i see dozens of new faces, many of them absolute stunners every time. the well never seems to run dry. pattaya has an inexhaustible supply of them and new ones are arriving every day and i only see a small percentage of them.

almost every day i think to myself there is no where in the world i would rather be than pattaya, thailand. to me, it's paradise on earth.
