If I were you I'd go to Las Teranas. Everyone speaks French there. You can take a bus for cheap, I think there's an airport open over there also. You can rent a motorcycle / 4 wheeler to get around, there's lots to do and it's a beautiful beach.
How is the action there? Are the prices similar to Sosua or SD? And I don't really want to have a nova, I just I want to be able to negotiate. Someone who speaks basic french or english would be fine because I am not planning on spending the day with only one girl. I just bought a Rosetta stone language software for Spanish. Hope I will be able to learn the basics.
And if most mongers are very opened to show the rope to a new guys, I think I will be fine in Sousa or BB.
I hate to ask again without giving anything in return, but I promise a trip report, so you've got my IOU fwiw, haha.
I want to come to a decision on a hotel for my 5 day stay at the end of Sept. So far, the Palacio is it, but I just read some negative stuff here, hence my apprehensiveness.
I'm a 60 year old noobie to SD. I want as close to luxury and modern as I can get for $150 or thereabouts. It should be in a convenient area, near the ocean would be nice, be girl friendly and very importantly, have a good wifi connection. [I'll be using an iPad. ] My Spanish is basic and I'll be by myself, so that's a concern too. While the $10 charge for a girl at the Palacio seems to bother some, I don't care about that. What does sort of concern me is the spotty wifi and what some seem to describe as the bizarre interior. I plan to spend a lot of time in or around the hotel relaxing and I don't mind spending a few extra bucks for that reason.
(Not to digress, but A BIG shout out and thank you to jaosousa for his incredible assistance.)

Thanks!
Well you may want this hotel on the published ads it runs about 150 or more a night, but first check hotwire and if you see the 4 1/2 star un named hotel in Santo Domingo booked it they put it much lower there and I stayed there earlier in the summer for around 75 a night. It is really a nice hotel and the rooms are very roomy and I know with my rate I do not even get their biggest room, but it was more than enough. The internet worked very well and they had modern TV and the bathroom was roomy with walk in shower and a separate jacuzi like tub that one of the chicas I had really enjoyed herself in and went to work in (LOL).
I would suggest always book for 2 in the room a lot of guys make that mistake of only booking 1 person and than they are surprised when they get chica charges. Now I had a different chica for each of my days there and there was no chica charge, but I am not sure of their policy if you start running multiple chicas in a day in there. I would suggest if you stay here to have your chicas dress casual and not with overly sexual dress with the big heels and very short skirts because in my opinion that would not go over very well in this hotel because this hotel caters to families, history tourists and the like. The monger still would not have a problem in this hotel if he keeps it subtle and low profile
Oh and BTW I have stayed at the Hotel Palacio numerous times and no problem with chica charges or anything and its a nice hotel with good location in the colonial zone . I will say that the wi fi can be spotty at time it does work but in some part of the day it is spotty and it seems to work a lot better at night . Besides the wi fi I don't know what guys mean by spooky and the other things but we all look for different things.
It has everything you named plus a very good breakfast, small roof, top pool and a small gym. The staff is very friendly and it is chica friendly. It is very convenient to everything you will want. I booked on hotwire for $65 plus tax 16. You next to El Conde a pedestrain mall. It is a very safe area made for tourist. It is my favorite hotel in SD. I have used jagua, jaraqua intercontinental. Non were as satisfactory as Palacio. On hotwire it was 3 half stars $65 a great deal.

I ended up booking 4 nights at the Palacio. I went direct through the hotel website because hotwire didn't seem to offer a choice of rooms and I wanted a particular room. Unless I don't know how to use hotwire, which is a distinct possibility. With tax, it comes to about $650, my budget. There is a wealth of info on this board and thanks to everyone who for their helpful posts.
I'm sure I'll have more questions as I get closer to the trip, Sept. 25, and it's nice to know there's people willing to help. I am truly grateful.
Meanwhile, I'll ask another question. I suppose I'll never be a professional monger, sorry.). I'm the minor leagues, not even, compared to you guys, haha. Anyway, I would be perfectly content to hook up with one girl for my entire stay of 5 days. I was thinking the best way would be to troll the various websites. Well, I was taken aback by Badoo. A girl and her buddy were ready to do the deed last night! Is trolling websites for this purpose far-fetched?
I never had a problem. Night staff was cool. They never asked for any chica fee. I used the internet and viewed porn with no problem.
I stayed there last week and their internet filters blocked anything adult-oriented. When did you stay there?

You said you were looking for a chica and found a chica (and her buddy) ready to do the deed. Where does the "Is trolling websites for this purpose far-fetched?" of your statement fit in to this?
I think he was commenting on your post about staying at the Riazor.
I got a little confused with the talk of the Riazor and still am.) I'll be staying at the Palacio.

Obviously, I'm not "there" yet.
I have no problems with boning 2 chicas just for boning's sake. Who wouldn't, not to mention it's a fantasy. I would also love to hook up with one person who can not only satisfy my physical needs, but could also be a companion, tour guide, friend, whatever, while I'm there. I guess the ultimate GFE? Whatever, I think you get the idea. Badoo seems geared to getting laid and not much else judging from the little bit that I've used it. I want more though. But in the end, I'll take what I can get, haha.

Hi to all.
I just posted on the general info photo and detail about a scammer / blackmailer girl from Santo Domingo.
Fell free to check the complete reports in the general info section, to understand her behavior, and. Beware of her!
I'll be staying at the Palacio.
Less than two blocks from the Hotel Palacio is the Mesóand the'Bari Restaurant. Go left when exiting the Palacio, then make a right onto the next street and straight ahead on the next corner is the Mesóand the'Bari Restaurant. (Also within about a block of going to your left when exiting the Palacio, there is a small pharmacy, on the right hand side of the road (east side of calle duarte) , where you can buy cialis or viagra or the generic versions.
From Food & Wine: http://www.foodandwine.com/restaurants/meson-dbari "A time-honored restaurant in the Zona Colonial (Colonial Zone) , Mesóand the'Bari serves fresh regional fare in a restored, two-story house. Inside, the restaurant contains brick archways, white-clothed tables, and large, for-sale paintings by local artists. The menu, printed in three languages, includes specialties like cangrejo guisado (fresh crab stewed in brown sauce) and filete a la criolla (Creole-style filet of beef with tomatoes, onions, and sweet peppers). The bar is a popular hangout for local businessmen, artists, and baseball players, so expect the TV to be tuned into a game. The restaurant also hosts live merengue music on most weekends."
Address is 302 Calle Hostos, open from 12pm to 12am. 7 days per week (photos from the internet).
