So if the "takeout" is your target, better ask the mamasan for present only girls who will be available for that. Additional some girls there will not go out with a foreigner (because no chance to communicate and the "big dick rumor" so the selection will be reduced, but still a lot of girls, I am sure. I have been with a western customer on a tour last Saturday, we went to two KTVs and both had more than 100 girls even for that "requirement", but I am afraid you need to speak Chinese, or you need a translator or you have to find a KTV with a English skilled mamasan (very expensive KTVs will provide that, the lower and medium KTVs not often, but I know a mamasan who can speak a decent English in a medium ranged KTV, she even offer our customers after having a first party there, you can later just come over, pay her mamasan fee and pick the girl to go out without spend for a room again, so if you need that contact, just check our page or write a private message here).

KTVs here in Shanghai are all "nightclubs", not like a bar, so I never visit a KTV who will have girls in daytime. The KTV service is hosting a party starting from 7 to 9 pm and end from midnight to 3 am. You also have to book a room for an evening there, it's not like a bar where you go there when ever you want, get a drink and leave after finish. You book (and pay) room, DJ, waiter, mamasan and so on for the evening, even when you leave after 10 minutes. And you normally have a minimum drink charge of at least 500 to 1000 RMB included in the room fee, so also not easy not to waste that budget. And a big share of this cost is fixed, same for one or 5 guys, so if you go there alone, it's a expensive (and honestly bad) deal, but if you are able to share the cost within a small group, a KTV party is a great deal.

But all KTVs will work with that "face to face" selection, but no need to by shy, they will see so many guys every day, you don't need to worry they will remember your face.

Best time to pick up girls is around 7:30 pm, because this time the KTV girls will start to work. But than better be fast, because they will go from room to room than and till 8:30 most rooms will be booked, that means in a medium KTV there are at least 100 guys who picked out 100 girls from the selection. Here we German call it: "the early bird get the worm".

To make a decision will be a hard job, because they will bring the girls in several charges, so for example each time 20, while you see the first selection, you still have a chance for 5 times another 20 girls. Do you see the problem? You like one, but you are not sure if there will be better ones, than you ask for another selection, finally could be you find out the best one was in the 3rd selection, but when you want to call her back, she already has been picked out in another room. When you try to find a KTV, you should know they are 3 different kind of KTVs here in Shanghai. One is the regular one (like for example Cash Box), where you only rent a room with friends, party together and leave, no girls!

The other ones are the KTVs with girls. Most time they included something like Huisuo 会25152; (Clubhouse) in their name, than should be clear they have girls.

Here you now will find the more "legit" ones and the Clubs we call "naughty" KTVs on our page.

A "legit" one includes singing and some light kissing or touching in the KTV, but not more. Here sometimes you find more stunners, but here also the rate of the girls who finally are available for "takeout" is lower.

A "naughty" KTV will include much more hot activities in the KTV, like for example strip dance, topless games and in some clubs also naked games (but no sex! I also know a KTV where you can book a extra girl for a 2 song nude dance including BJ in the room for 600 extra.

There is a 4th group of KTVs where I hope you never will stop over. We call them the "black KTVs". This are the places where the pimps on the street will bring you, if you follow them to a bar with sexy girls. This clubs are small, only some rooms, only 10 or 20 girls and no signs for a KTV outside. Than after a short session they will blackmail you with "they video taped it" or just with some strong guys to pay 5 000 RMB and more. One guy just left a review on our page that he was ripped off there with 30 000 RMB for one hour including blow job, but after beaten up, he finally paid!

The problem is to find out, which KTV offer what kind of service. They will not even talk about their "service" on phone most time (because you also could work for the police), so you have to go there and ask. As a westerner you have the "no police" advantage, so if you are there (and you can speak Chinese or you have a translator beside), than they will tell you very clear what kind of service they offer and also clear the rate with you, but nearly no chance to get that without visit the club.

The range for KTV rates is very wide in Shanghai. There are clubs where you can have a party for 5 guys for 4000 including drinks, naughty activities and girls, other medium ranged clubs will charge 10 or 15 k for the same party (but for sure with higher level environment and girls). There are also high class KTV where a party will be at least 10 k each customer (KTV is a typical "company" entertainment, so the guys there don't mind to spend a fortune in one night, because they will claim it from their company as "customer entertainment".

We have some "checked" KTVs and I know a good cheap one (but no English skilled mamasan) and one a little bit more upscale with the English speaking mamasan, so just send a private message or check out our page for details.

Since I can speak fluent mandarin. I basically sent mass SMS to classifieds, independents, and girls from his site.
