After one week of KL, I thought of sharing some ideas on the local scene, particularly for people who comes here for the first time.

(R means local currency)

KL offers a lot in terms of fun possibilities. You can roughly divide them in four categories:

Escort services. I have tried this option only once, and was not overly impressed. Got a Thai lady, whose performances were only average. Paid 250 for the hour at my place (hotel). Requirements were met, big boobs, but that was more or less it. I am sure that I was not particularly lucky, though, you can get better. It is an option that I would repeat.

Also, there are pimps a bit overall, and especially at bars and at hotels. I did not try them this time, but I have seen them operating with other people. No idea about the prices, but the girls on offer were young and average looking, mostly Chinese. Could be an option, but I suggest be careful dealing with those guys. In a place where you can find ladies a bit overall, the escort business is not well developed. Too much competition.

Freelancers (FL). KL is full of them, in almost every bar you can find them by the hundreds. Best time to look is from sunset to the time the show begins at that particular venue, normally between 20:00 and 22:00. After the show begins, typically a band, in some places you have to pay an entry fee (around 30 are and it includes a drink), and it gets crowded. From that moment on, it is difficult to find the right person. Between noise and lack of space, talking and knowing each other is challenging, and the risk to find the wrong one becomes bigger.

I have been exploring a number of times the Thai bar and the Beach Club, and have been to other bars as well (Hilton and a few on the same street where the Havana Pub is located, one called Gypsies). The main advantage of this option is variety. You can find anything, between just arrived Philipino girls to top model russians, to blacks, Chinese, and anything Asian. Depending on the place, quality varies a lot. The BC and the Thai place tends to be low quality, and other more classy places have better material. Prices range between 300 R, which is rock bottom price, to 1000+ for overnite. TO go short time is not good value, costs slightly less and there is always the risk that the girl will offer rushed services with the intention to go back and find another deal.

In order to use the bar option, you have to bear in mind that there are two limitations. One is logistics. Unless you are close to the bar, you will have to find a cab to go to your place after finding the girl, and cabbies will rip you off. They should go by the meter, but after sunset they won't and accept only a flat rate or the legal night rate. While they remain cheap, you must take into account that prices for taxis will go up at night.

The second limitation is quality. You really don't know who is going to come with you. While they are considered freelancers, so called FL, most of them are really sharks. Their target is to maximise revenues while in KL on a short time visa, and they have little interest in returning customers. So, if you pick up a girl late at night, by the time you are ready for action she could be too tired, too drunk, or feeling sick, resulting in underperformance and disappointment.

Massage places

Did not try this option. The forum is full of info about them in various places in KL.

Spa's. In KL, Spa's are brothels. Malaysia is a muslim country, to to call them for what they are is not politically correct, but make no mistakes, every Spa offers a range of services, including sex. Price wise, you can get full service for 220 R, and make use of the Spa facilites (showers, jacuzzi, Sauna and so on). I have tried three, the one at the Cititel, the one at the Boulevard hotel, and the one attached to the beach club, practically identical. For 220, you won't get much. You can select the girl, but she will offer basic services. Good for release, but not more than that.

There is however a difference within Spa services, which is not obvious and not visible. If you pay the minimum price, you will get average girls, good only for basic sex. However, at the Cititel you can opt for FS + massage. You cannot select the girl, but she will be better looking and you will have more time available. The price difference is minimal, 245 for the full package, and the value for money is much higher. At the place attached to the BC, they have two line ups, one with average looking girls, and one with better ones. The better option costs 280. You pay also for the location.

My view on the whole is as follows.

The bar scene is interesting, but I found it difficult to actually find somebody worthwhile. Since these girls are freelancers, they can do whatever they want, including rejecting you or offering bad services. Furthermore, if you go for overnite, remember that there will be a stranger in your hotel room while you sleep, so make sure that your stuff is well protected. To get a decently good looking lady, budget a minimum of 400-500 R, plus taxi and drinks. A night out, ending with having a lady in your hotel room, can easily get to 500-700 are all inclusive. Among other things, there is the chance that you will not find somebody you like. Both the Thai bar and the BC are full of girls who really do not like what they do. I suspect some of them are forced into the business, and many of them are there because of financial needs (like children at home). They might be unexperienced, scared, or simply not capable of pleasing you. So, opting to hunt in bars can end up finding you around 3 AM looking for a cab to go back alone. The BC has also a visible presence of ladyboys, so make sure you know who you are going with.

From my point of view, the Spa option is overall better. First, you don't have to mess around in an overcrowded bar and have to haggle with cabbies. Second, it is cheaper. For 250 are you get a massage, sex, and the use of the Spa, with more or less guaranteed services. In other words, if you look for sex you are sure you will find it. Third, you don' t have to worry about your belonging, or about what the lady will do. You go to the spa, do your things, and get out to enjoy KL. If the girl mess about, just complain to the local management. It is not that they will refund you, but the girl knows that she might loose her job there. Better than nothing.

In general, I found KL to be expensive for an Asian country. 500 are for the whole evening out and sex with a FL is not nothing, approx 125 Euro. And that is the minimum.

The other thing I noticed is that many girls, a bit overall, will not offer you anything close to GFE. Vietnamese and local Malay ladies, in particular, are quite chill. There are certainly exceptions, but comparing the sweet&tender of standard services in Thailand, for instance, I noticed a difference in approach. In Bangkok it is really easy to find a real FL. A young girl who needs a bit more pocket money and hangs around in front of your hotel offering massages, provides good servcices, and is cheap. In KL, so-called FL hanging around in bars are much closer to professional hookers.

I have been here only one week, so the chance to find a girlfriend was very limited. If I was to stay here longer, I would have looked for true FL, so girls who have regular jobs and are interested in knowing a foreigner and to be spoiled on dinners and gifts. The other option I would consider is to go about in bars and look for really interesting people, collect phone numbers and meet outside the bar scene, with the overall plan to put together a list of 'trusted' providers. Also girls working in Spa's could be interested in keeping in touch with you. They are not bound to the Spa, so you might find one girl who you feel good with, and who would come to your place if you call her. And as a fix customer, you could get better prices as well.

For short term visitors, not speaking the local language and not intending to spend time, effort and money in hunting (like me), I would suggest booking in a hotel with a spa, budget 250 are (60 Euro) per day in massage + sex services, and keep the bar scene for what it is. A place where to go with friends for a couple of drinks. There are nice places around, and not flooded with hookers. The Hard Rock Cafe, at walking distance from the BC, can be nice. Close to the Havana pub and the Gypsies place there a large number of bars and restaurants, and some of them are not typical pick-up joints. I think there is also one place close to the BC which caters to non mongers.

Anyway, KL is a nice place. Not the best, but certainly nice. If you know what to do, it can provide unlimited fun, and reasonably cheap.

Actually, I got a free massage because I've gone to LS for ten (10) hours previously. At LS, for every ten (10) hours of massage, you will get an hour free.
