As recent as a year ago, a Ship service company was caught discharging waste water directly into the sea, meeting local laws, I. E. 2 km from the shore!

E
I was in Subic a while back looking for a place and travelled to the North.
I further researched it and the further north you go from Subic, the less people and the more wildlands you encounter whihc is what I like, clean and fresh with few people. Have a look at the area on Google Earth.
PP.

PP.
Ya, years ago I went to Hundred Islands. It was nice but definitely bring your own girl. You can rent a boat and have a private beach.
I posted this link on another thread too.
For those of you looking for alternative things to do in the Philippines, see this link:

I had a local tell me that going south also provide nice alternatives.

I just read somewhere that the companies that offer the SIM + 3 G Data tariff for internet connection block certain ports and protocols like VPN.
I thought I can use the 3 G Data plans as a backup for Skype, VoIP, VPN, RDP, SSH or other random ports / protocols, is there any techy IT guy out there that could tell me if these operations are really blocked on 3 G? For example on SIMs from Globe, Smart etc.
I presume these are not blocked on the land-line broadband ADS / DSL services?
I assume there are several different mobile providers. What company do people think is the most value for data and voice. 3 G is good enough for me.
HAPPY HUNTING FRED.

HAPPY HUNTING FRED.
Smart or Globe are the main carriers, however, which is best depends on the area you will be for coverage purposes.

Same for 3 G smart, no issues.
BTW, I am semi network engineer so trust me, the days of blocking are long gone, in most countries. Except some Middle East nations, Vietnam (still maybe), Cambodia.
smart or globe are the main carriers, however, which is best depends on the area you will be for coverage purposes.
i have both smart and globe on post paid contracts, and they're equally ineffective. i would say that they're roughly equivalent in terms of slow speeds, incidence (frequent) of dropped calls, and often poor voice quality. i'm convinced the reason for the ineffective (and mostly unacceptable) level of service is that there's simply no pay off to making the necessary investments. most filipinos text rather than call, and i'm guessing that the paid subscriber base for premium services is relatively small. the same is true for internet services here, where 5 mbps is considered quite fast, and streaming video without frequent interruptions is unusual.
ge.
I will only be in manila area. Well over 80+% of time. Which do you recommend or are both equally bad?
Thanks.

Thanks.
I had zero signal on smart in Citadel hotel, but Globe had full signal.
I got the smart pocket WIFI, and that has better reception regardless other facts. PHP one wii'.

Thanks.
Without making it more complicated, imagine a certain company owns a lot of malls and car parks and hotels in and around Makati and also parts of Manila, not forgetting ownership of some commercial buildings too. They have a rather large thoroughfare in Makati named in their honour. Well given that they actually built the road it sees reasonable.
Now imagine that same company also owns a telcom company.
So guess whos signal they promote and lets be kind, and says, guess who's signals they don't block, but don't actively promote either.
This maybe of help depending on where you are going to be.
Seems like some kind of inside joke. Those of us who don't live or hang out in Makati have no idea what you're on about. So does Smart ave. Turn onto Ayala Ave, or does Globe Blvd turn into. Whatever. Without making it more complicated indeed.
