Obviously, there are are big reasons for visiting the place nevertheless, but remove the girls from the equation and who the hell would make the journey?

On the contrary, I personally consider the expense of venturing out into the less trammeled parts of Asia in search of pussy money well spent, especially if the girls are hot, $11 a throw and you're (virtually) the only Westerner around when you get there. At least when travelling you get an experience, good or bad, thrown into the bargain. Whereas, for me, spending 2000 or 3000 pesos on bar fining a girl on Field's is just an extravagent waste of money. Each to their own.

They come to fields and get three girls to stay with them a whole week. They were very generous according to one girl I know. Ofcourse she had to go back to the apartment around midnight.

Some Koreans spend lots of money in AC drinkwise as well as for girls. While others I have seen bargain. So it is not universal big spenders. There are many girls who atleast say they go with only Koreans and Japanese. But in actuality who knows?

So naturally, I grew up and went to school associating mostly with Asian folks.

Generally, it doesn't matter if Koreans are rich or poor. They tend to have a very macho, brusque demeanor. If you type "Korean parliment" in YouTube, you'll see plently of videos where South Korean politicans break out into physical fights on the floor. Very uncivlized. I think this war-like mentality has something to do with centuries of foreign domination. First by the Chinese, then by the Japanese.

Koreans are opposite of the Japanese. The Japanese are reserved, gentle and polite, almost to a fault. I have never heard a bargirl in AC utter a negative word about Japanese tourists.

As for rich Koreans not going to AC because they can afford pricier mongering elsewhere, I will have to disagree. I don't think most people go to AC on price alone. Some Korean guys prefer Filipinas. Maybe they get great service (clearly, many bars and bargirls cater specifically to them). And most Koreans have a basic understanding of English, which is helpful in AC. They don't have a basic understanding of Chinese or Japanese to monger in Shanghai or Tokyo.

If you need more proof look at the new hotel annex ABC is building which will more than double their room capacity. The management sees huge economic growth potential in AC and they are investing for it. I would not have invested in the initial hotel construction of a few years ago - too risky, but I wish I had the opportunity to invest in this new construction phase. They are going to make a lot of money.

I disagree for the following reasons:

1. In Germany where I currently live as an expat American, the prime destination is the FKK club where it's 50 Euros, or ($73. 00) for 30-minutes.

2. As a Navy veteran, I was stationed in PI in the 70's when an overnight was 50 Pesos.

However, consider inflation since then and the difference in wages and 2000 pesos is still not that much to spend.

Back then I was earning about $900 per month, and 50 pesos was about $8. 00, or about 1% of my gross monthly pay.

So now we pay 2000 pesos for an overnight, or about $45. 00 and complain about the cost.

If someone makes 50K per year, thats about $4000 per month. So 1% of that is $40. 00. About the same for me as in 1978.

The point is that this is not a great deal of cash for what you are getting. It's about equal to 9-gallons of gas in the USA, or 4-gallons in Europe.

You're on vacation, just spend the money and have a good time. You can't take it with you.

Of course in AC, if you don't like a bar, come back tomorrow and it will change. That is why it is so fun to go there.

Mirrors at the Clarkton (next lot past the plaza opens at 3, so that gives you a cluster of 3 good afternoon bars (Roadies, the other bar in the complex, gets thumbs down from those in the know). There are advantages to going early, before the regulars (Perimeter places tend to have more regular clientele than the Lower fields area places) arrive and snap up the best girls. A recent expansion of the Clark airport has just been completed. There is now a second story to the terminal, and aerobridges constructed.

But that's not all! More expansion for the airport is scheduled. As you can see from this image, this is what the airport will look like in the near future:

Furthermore, AirAsia has selected Clark as it's Philipppine hub. Flights are scheduled to go into operations at the end of 2011.

These are clearly good news for Angeles City and Philippines tourism in general. When I was in AC two weeks ago, I saw them put up a "Walking Street" sign on Fields. I think the local government plans on giving Pattaya a good run for their money.

To people upset with rising prices for the creme of the crop girls, look at the bright side. More tourists and higher barfines mean more girls will be drawn into the industry. That means more choices for everyone.

People who are more budget conscious need not fear that they'll get priced out. As with any service, there'd be different price levels for different budgets. Just as now, there's high barfines in the mega bars and low barfines on Blow Row. Who can be opposed to more choices?
