total damage: ?1000 membership fee + ?6000 for the shop + ?5000 to nana and around ?3500 for karaoke, drinks and food = ?15, 500.
conclusion: considering the price, not really worthwhile in my opinion. the cafe struck me as being similar to a hostess club, except the girls don't work for the business and you're spending time with them outside of the premises. i assume a lot of japanese guys go there to get a date without asking for sex. of course it's not like sex is out of the question; lolitacomplex hooked up in the shinjuku cafe, but i think it's significant that was after the girl picked him during the ladies' choice time. there was also at least one other report a while back of someone negotiating p4p action (though i assume not every girl is going to be up for that; i'd guess many probably just want free drinks, food and a few thousand yen). if you like the challenge of seduction, or even just want to hang with a j-girl with no expectations of sex, there are a number of other options which are considerably cheaper. i can see negotiating p4p being a thrill, though i imagine it wouldn't end up being much cheaper than what you'd pay for delivery. i might give it a try if i decide i need that extra kick, though i'll make sure to do it on a night when i'm more energetic.
