But by using your landline for WhatsApp, you are leaving a trail and also a number, that is in your name, with SPs, spas and Indies. I personally won't do that, what if something goes wrong and they end up calling your landline and someone in your family picks up. You will for sure show your ignorance and try to sound innocent but that would leave the dent and you won't be able to get rid of that landline no. And will always stay fearful of a 'call' from someone.

I used foreign virtual WhatsApp numbers from Russia, Ukraine previously, they're dirt cheap, like 1 $. Just verify once, and use it until you need to change your phone. Only drawback is that once you verify with OTP, that number may no longer be available again.
