A portion of the Republican party is on the wrong side of this. And it's why we have turncoats in this forum calling on Ukraine to surrender and certainly give away their country, many executed or shuffled off to concentration "re-education" camps as they are tired of looking at the burned out Russians tanks and other casualties and embarrassments. They aren't worried about Putin doing something stupid and suicidal, they just don't like watching their side bleed. It's an all or nothing game, that foreign policy specialists above the wingnut blog simpleton's loop know full well. The Ukrainian soldiers also rightly expect torture or death with surrender, and many civilians funneled to concentration "re-education" style camps. It also likely will spread beyond Ukraine if not deterred. Anyway here's a great article from about a month ago as to what's at stake, and why arming willing fighters and sanctioning the hell out of Russia is the proper strategy. In the meantime maybe Elvis can erect some more straw men for you.
