Can anyone mention some good places to eat that won't explode your wallet? Not looking for anything too "swank"; just some places where you can get some good Churrasco (grilled meats) , pollo frito (fried chicken),"La Bandera", or Costillas (ribs).
I am also interested in some mid-level type restaurants as well that is a nice place to take a chica to (non-Italian cuisine; just not a fan) ; but I am not looking to go to the "Ruth Chris" of Santo Domingo. Just looking for some nice places for a rib-eye or seafood.
Thanks in advance!
I always enjoy going to Adrian Tropical, it is the only restaurant on the ocean side of the Malecon, you can easily walk there from the Riazor / Jaraqua area. Just head west on the Malecon, you cannot miss it but you will take your life in your hands trying to cross the Malecon. Good Dominican food, great views and always a lively, mixed crowd.
Another place that is not mentioned very often is El Conocu. Also Dominican food and a bit of a tourist trap during the day but at night there are many Dominicans there enjoying the atmosphere and the hourly dance show. Located up the the street beside Manolos, just past the Jaguar Apartments. Great place to take a chica, guarantee she will love it.
