Can anyone recommend a girl-friendly 5* star hotel?
Holiday Inn silom
Dear ISG'ler,
I have the big luck to be in BKK at the beginning of March. And I have the option to stay at the westin. But by reading this phantastic forum I can't realy finde out if it is GF.
Is there someone who can give me the latest info on the actual status.
Thanks a lot

It is GF. Also there is a side door on Soi 19 that can help you bypass the lobby. If you go through the front, you have to take an elevator up to the lobby and then another one to your room. I love the Westin due to the location.
Accor is having a 3 day sale with very cheap rates. Considering staying to Novotel Siam Square or Asoke Residence for my brief stay in June.

But did you see the catch 400 Baht per person for breakfast. O.K. Its still a good price and you can do breakfast somewhere else or make your own in kitchenette.
http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/hotel-6162-grand-mercure-bangkok-asoke-residence-previously-sofitel/index.shtml Its not Sofitel any more.
Map (Asoke Residence):

Its a good location close to MRT, BTS, Soi Cowboy, etc.
With Wifi, Fitness, Swimming pool, seems like I should try it.

Why would someone mongering need 5 star?
You must be very wealthy!
Most of us save wasted accomodation money for mongering.
The girl will be expecting a very high tip if you stay there.
Hi Soap Fan,
I don't think breakfast is compulsory. It just happens to be listed below sales conditions of rate. If you click on the sales conditions, you get the following:
Sales conditions of rate

Accor Asia Pacific Super Sale
Superior 1 King Bed

I spend a LOT of nights per year in the Westin. Never had a problem bringing girls straight through the lobby at any time day or night. Typically my TGF comes up to the room herself. Once they asked her to leave her ID. I escorted her back to the lobby immediately to retrieve her ID as she was not happy.
But where is this door on Soi 19? Where do you arrive in the hotel?

Sure it can't be compulsory. I'm not hungry at breakfast time.
I'm too busy dining at the Y.
They sent me this yesterday. Valid for bookings from today until the 26th.

Will
Yes. It is GF, but have the gal act like she has been there before. And not gawk at the place or else you will have to pay extra for her. Walk like you own the place when you get to the floor with the front desk. As you have to enter here to get to the elevator to go to your floor level. It probably has the best set up to get to the street. And to the LRT.
TripAdvisor has published its lists of the dirtiest hotels in the world. In the Asia Pacific section, three Bangkok hotels - First Hotel, Woraburi Sukhumvit Hotel and Resort and the Royal Pakview Hotel - make it into the bottom ten Dirtiest Hotels in Asia.
In fairness, there are far dirtier hotels in Bangkok than those three, it's just that the travelers who submit TripAdvisor reviews aren't likely to stay at the super-dumps. There are hotels and guest houses on Soi 3 and KhaoSan Road that are so dirty the bed sheets shimmer with body lice.
But indeed, there are much, much better options than these three "list of shame" hotels.

I took them up on this sale for the Asoke Residence... at 1330b/day a very good deal. I have heard it is gf, but will make my full report to confirm after visiting in June.
