My only experience is on United without any transfer of terminals. Seems like you have gotten some good advice from others here.

For what ever it is worth, last year at terminal 1, I was waiting and waiting for my luggage while the same 8 or 9 bags were going round and round. United is their great wisdom had put my bag on a later flight. Mean while the United employees were loading up the 8 or 9 bags and I asked them if these were people who didn't make it thru immigration? The reply was no, these were the transfer bags to other flights! Not sure it they were to other United flights or other airlines. Either way not a very secure way to handle bags. Anyone could have grabbed a bag and gone out the "nothing to declare" line.

Did you have to collect your baggage first?[/QUOTE]At the second terminal grab a sky / cap or porter as you exit the cab, hand him a 100 peso bill and tell him you are in a hurry. He will take you to a special x-Ray line or to the front of the line and then to the front of the check-in line. I have done this many times before, especially at Terminal 1 with its long lines. Also at Cebu airport.

[/QUOTE]Another option in case you are afraid of missing your connection would be to book an earlier one way flight from CEB to MNL; cost on Cebu Pacific, using one of their promo p650 fares as a base, is only about p2,150 all in (including an extra p600 for a suitcase, up to 30 kg).

And if you want to avoid MNL altogether then fly direct to ICN; again on Cebu Pacific the cost would be about p9, 500.

If so your checked in bags should be checked thru to your final destination even if you are changing airlines. The only time you should have to claim your bags would be to clear customs at the 1st port of entry in your home country and then afterwards simply hand them back off to an airline agent for them to continue on to your final destination (I. E. , from ICN to MCO via DFW. You would clear customs in DFW). Hawaii and Guam are about the only exceptions I'm aware of to that, I guess customs doesn't have the staff to check bags if you are continuing onto the mainland (or they don't consider themselves part of the USA yet, LOL).

Since I like island hopping. And plan to come live in the Philippines on a regular basis soon. I thought it would be cool to own my own boat. Example, 2nd hand for 200,000 pesos.

One I could modify for going on 2 or 3 day adventures. Eat and sleep on. Meaning - anchoring off a near by beach. Strickly coatal. No open waters.

I fantasize have 3 to 5 Filipina brown skin guapa Chica babes privately enjoy with me. Musica, drink, food, and lots of sex.

So I am just curious if anyone has had their own banca for island hopping besides renting a boat for a day.

Maybe too much trouble. Who can you trust to watch it when you not around?

I been told. I could go into the island hopping business in Cebu. But who can I trust. That is the issue.

Its not like I can keep it in a marina with docks and guard / fence / gates.

I think if I had a GF who has a relative who is a fisherman. I could pay him. Less likely he would cheat me. Remember I said less likely. Or maybe cheat me just a little. Ahahahha.

Was quoted P250 k or more for a newish one. Being a lover of DIY I bought an second hand hull in seaworthy condition P25 k + nrw 14 hp horizontal shaft motor P13,500 + new prop shaft rudder + paint + misc. About P50 k all in all & certainly big enough.

P200 k+ & a bit of ingenuity / swest would certainly be plenty to do what you envisage.

*A banca is the small canoe sized fishing boat.

It's open-ocean worthy; he intends to sail SE Asia over the coming years. Cost him approx. P5 million; since he'll be living on it full time he will let his MOA condo. The boat has four large staterooms that each sleep 2 comfortably and 4 small rooms to berth singles, galley, saloon, wheelhouse, head, etc. Obviously he has wind power, also solar-powered batteries, and diesel engines.

Thanks guys for all the good advice. I like the one about spreading some money around. That has worked well around the world for getting things done. That is one thing I miss mightyly when I'm home in the USA. Dealing with inspectors on a houseing project or a pig headed govenment official. I always think how nice it would be to slip him a fifty or a hundred to make alll the bs go away, like I would do if I were in the developing world. Ha ha.

I enjoyed my time in the Philippines. Manila is a waste of time and money.

Angeles was a lot of fun. Definitely spending more time there next year. I hope the scene grows but its just a small version of Pattaya right now.

LA cafe is full of hardened pros. You'd be pressed for time to find girls new to the scene.

Food in general sucks on average.

Overall I had mostly positive experiences in most bars. Shipwreck was the only bar that was super pushy with the lady drinks. The mamasan shoved a girl on my lap and asked me to buy her a drink. She even asked for a tip as I walked out.

Be careful of kids asking for handouts. 2 came up to me asking for hand outs. I knew exactly what they were planning. They tried to go for my pockets but I kept them at arms length with firm pushes. They gave up after the girl with me helped shoo them away. I generally only carry enough cash for the night so I would not have been a big loss but falling victim only will embolden these kids to do more.

He owns a small resort called Tonga Sails Resort at Tambobo Bay about an hour south of Duma. He runs a boat building co-op specializing in large cruising cataramans. Very accomplished sailor and competent builder. Usually stops by Why Not? For drinks and contact every Wednesday morning.

Take care.[/QUOTE]Ha ha sure ill share a pic of my 'yacht' the MV Lorna. Its a working boat so when I'm not roving the seas around San Isidro she's earning her keep hauling catches to the markets. I have a crew of two, one young keen fisherman & one very experienced old fisherman. I check up on them regularly, you can't leave employees alone too long.

Fishing has been lousy this month with 2 typhoons & a tropical storm all coming one after another.

Tell you some more adventures when I have time. Life is short!
