Please help with Visa on Arrival at PP Airport for Americans.

1.

Does the airline ask for proof of onward travel?

2.

Does the immigration ask for proof of onward travel?

3.

Do you need to have two photos? What size?

4.

I have done two same day border runs by van from pattaya to Cambodia this year. Could that cause any problems for this airport entry.

5.

What is the 130/136 area referred to as? For travel from airport.

6.

Is that free train still functioning? Does it get close to 130/136.

7.

Are the electric outlets in Cambodia same as in Thailand.

Casino gamblers especially Asians are chain smokers and even if there are signs in non smoking rooms they still smoke. In Angeles city also same situation. Sometimes house keeping spray but smell lingers. I do not smoke. I have always avoided Naga before firstly because it is too far from mongering venues and also I am not a big gambler. When I gambled there before they gave me and my girl at that time free buffet dinner. But this time I got a good deal with breakfast. I will post a report when I go in October.

Is heart of darkness and other disco bars open? When I went before covid there were some nice freelancers. Some came from neighboring provinces to make money and was GFE. No qualms about staying LT.

Bargirls from street 136,141 are sort of run after the deed although very friendly. I like LT if I can get it. Nothing like a morning fuck.

2. Immigration did not ask.

3. You need passport size pictures. You can also online visitor visa. Fill out application and attach your picture. You will get the visa in your e mail which you show at the immigration. No need for photo.

4. I do not think they care how many times you have gone in. They welcome all tourists.

5. 136,141 etc are streets on riverside area.

6. Not sure if there is a free train. Check online.

7. Most hotels have universal outlets but 220 .

Most info these days are available online. Including videos of nightlife etc.

I am planning to take a VPN travel router with me and establishing a VPN tunnel to my home network so that I can use my ISP IP address to access company data and whatnot. As I will be working around 4-5 hours per day during my trip I am curious how was the wifi at these 2 mentioned hotels? Good enough to be doing a couple of video calls here and there?

I did not do any video calls though so whether it is good enough for your remote work or not I can't really say. It is Cambodia after all, WiFi can be hit or miss.

I do know that there is the newly opened hotel Tribe Phnom Penh Post Office Square on Riverside that actually offers a co-working space for remote workers for $10 half day / $15 full day and they claim to have high speed internet and free coffee. Expensive but at least it's an option for you if you run into trouble.

Things to watch out for??

1.

Is it legal in Cambodia to drink alcohol in public on streets?

2.

I hear about snatch and run. How common is this? Do they do it sneakily or confront you as well?

3.

How common is fake bills situation other than in cheap massage parlors? Hotels Restaurants Bars??

4.

How much tip is expected in bars for say purchase of a beer?

5.

Any reviews on RS 2 guest house?

2. PP bars are much more wild than Pattaya. Think Windmill or how Soi 6 used to be like in 2016.
3. PP bars are nothing like a good gogo bar. The girls do their little dances on the floor and you get free lap dances and more if you buy them drinks. PP is much dirtier not yet ruined by the Japanese salary men who expect nothing for buying lady drinks.
4. Never heard of this but unless this bar has all the best girls in PP just go to the next bar.
5. there is no actual shop named Massa. It's what some Farang called a massage shop after the Cambodian girl said "massage" and pronounced it "massa".

As for drinks and tipping, PP is FAR cheaper than Pattaya for drinks. Cambodia is a much poorer country than Thailand. It took my buddy and an entire night with many many girls to run up a 200 USD bar tab in PP.

re. fake bills. If you have a US bill that isn't in very good to pristine condition do not accept it back as change. You'll never be able to spend that money until you return to USA. Bring lots of 10s and 20s with you. I stupidly paid a bar tab with 100 USD and got a fake 50 USD back. This was from a bar I was a regular at! My girl gave me crap after saying always check your bills before you accept them. I still have that fake 50 USD as momento of my stupidness. The girls know places that will buy back fake bills at a discounted rate if you ever receive one.

So worried about the fake bills that I am planning on converting $20 at airport and $200 as soon as I reach riverside.

And will always use local currency. Where are the best exchanges? Hope there is no fake reil around.

Is drinking in public okay?

You'd have to carry a briefcase at all times to hold 200 USD in Riel. I leave my Riel in the room for the maids. It's all USD in Cambodia.

I save riels for tips, tuk tuk guys, amputees, local markets, etc. I like to keep a pocketful though to save big bills for fun stuff, which is usually just $50 in Siem.
