Also, anyone got a good idea on what to do during a day in SP for non-GDP activities? Besides museums (ugh) and parks (ugh)? I may have to pass a weekend there and was just wondering if there's actually anything cool to do besides go to the usual clinicas .... TripAdvisor/Booking were not particularly helpful on fun things to do.
-Cartman.
Besides eat at good restaurants and smoke a cigar? I'd suggest the jockey club. The ponies are still running. Sunday on Paulista has a good crowd if you want to people watch while listening to competing musicians and navigating sidewalk vendors. Maybe you'll see quadriplegic Elvis. This is the spot for getting your Zumba on in public. JK Iguatemi mall is a good place to take on a matinee. VIP seats recline and there is food and drink service. Sadly, much of Paulista life seems to take place in shopping centers. There are card rooms if you want to play poker. You can also find microbreweries around. For other entertainment check guiadesemana website for your dates.
