From the airport a taxi would not be my first choice. The airport express is faster and cheaper. You can take a taxi from Hong Kong station.

There are plenty short-time hotels in the area. Bear in mind the bars won't get busy until later in the evening which could restrict your time. You will be lucky to get to your hotel before 6.00pm and I assume you have an onward flight about 11.00am so you need to be away by 8.00am.

Met a guy last week who had a 10 hr stopover. He managed to book the Metro Park for 6hrs. And at a price well less than $100.

So there are basically 24 days left if true. The shutter at HKcafe was a little open early last night, so it seems they are working on it.

I personally like to window shop and check out the merchandise first (check under the bra, kick the booty, check the teeth, etc) before purchase. Just my 2 cents.

I see it is now common knowledge here but I do not keep up with the news until I am about to arrive. Neptune II gone. OMG. It will be sorely missed. A regular twice or three times-a-yearer for the last ten years I have eight days in HK later this month and to be frank I will not know what to do with myself. I know (well 'knew') the staff the nooks and crannies and and always felt the service and safety and dancefloor was excellent. Met some lovely girls and had many a great night in there. Not talking just about any of the action just the atmosphere. Eight days in Hong Kong and no Neptune II? Doesn't bear thinking about. My drink was spiked once in Amazonia so I am wary of there, and the old Fenwicks under its new name (can't remember) never reached the same level of friendliness or security, last time I was there last year I got into a slight altercation with an portly American tourist with a huge backpack on in the bogs he was turning aorund and banging into people. I asked him if he was a suicide bomber. He did not think it funny, everyone else did. Gawd, I might end up as once of those poor people that does not venture down Wanchai and have to content myself with LKF or sitting like some wary jet lagged tourist in the Holiday Inn, Grand Stanford or the Shangri La. Ah well, nothing lasts for ever. Right! I am going to have to work on a Plan B. Thinking cap on and a couple of stiff ones in Joe Bananas my first night to try and get the lay of the land I think is in order. I suppose there is always Sticky Fingers though.
