There was no defining common in a way to win an argument. And I did not make an unnecessary comment. The original argument / comment was in response to a claim that "anyone that uses anything other than advanced degree proves they don't have one. " I clearly showed that this statement is false as the term graduate degree is overwhelmingly used in the United States and the Bay Area.

Even your narrow explanation of the usage of Advanced Degree (being used for certain types of visas by the US government in a specific industry) demonstrates this is less common usage.

I have been through this many times with other customs agencies usually flying women from Colombia into Mexico, and I predicted which ones would get through and which ones would not. With the ones who did not, there was no consequence to me outside of the cost of the ticket.
