I've just cross-posted the 'is it dangerous' safety notes from Tungurahua's excellent Fuck Clubs List to the Rio crime and safety list. They apply (with mild variations) to most countries you go to.

Thanks to the information provided by Mraughh, I went to the massage parlor at 817 El Espector. The street is not located on any map that I have for Quito. As Mraughh pointed out, the key landmark is the Renault dealership. The exact street address for the dealership is Ave de Los Shyris N37-179 (in case you take a taxi). It´s about one block north of the Quicentro shopping mall. As you face the Renault building, El Espector is the street on the right. Except for the street number of 817, there´s nothing on the door to indicate that it´s a massage parlor or any other kind of business. You just knock and one of the girls will let you in.

For those new to Quito, it´s about a $2.50 taxi fare from La Mariscal. You can also easily get there taking the Ecovia (red color) bus on 6 de deciembre and exit at the Quicentro stop. It´s a 5-8 minute walk depending on traffic.

I went on a weekday at 11:30 AM. There´s was only one girl available. She was a short Mestiza who reminded me of a Filipina. She wasn´t the best looking, but she was friendly and gave me a pretty good massage with a "happy ending." I also liked the fact that she gave a good foot massage.

Stopped by CR tonight and was talking to some of the chiacas. They will be closed on friday 4/6 for the easter holiday. Saturday also I think. Its a pretty big holiday here.
