It'd be interesting to try to think of a way to put one over on these guys -- nothing too serious, but just something that sends the message. Maybe wrap something up in your pocket that has a gob of Krazy Glue in it or something. Or maybe something more harmless than that (and therefore less dangerous for you), since I wouldn't be surprised at all if your head would run into a pipe on the way out of the room. That's what these guys are like, though. There were some reports here awhile back of a guy getting attacked with pipes in one place for arguing over being ripped off (that report got deleted for breaking a forum rule regarding grammar and vocab).

So maybe a cigarette lighter with a remote control bomb in it. Yeah, that would do it. ;-)

The price at the 63st brothels is $10. You pay upfront. I was quoted this in 2 different places yesterday.Today I partook at 99D and gave him $10 as I was entering the room. He then asked for $20 and laughed. So did I. He walked away with his $10.

I made sure I locked the door, and put my bag on the bed in full sight, and I had no problems. The girl even gave me a half decent 5 minute massage. Remember to be very wary in these places. I haven't been to PP in a couple of years, but they always quoted $10 then too. If you came on a motorbike taxi there was no getting out of this ripoff price, as they had to pay $5 to your Cambodian keeper. However once I learned to walk there on my own it was easy enough to bargain to $5 by offering to leave if they did not meet that price. Of course things may have changed.

When i was in Singapore a couple of years ago, there must had been a theif under the bed, the girl pointed at a place on the floor (very close to the bed) and said put your clothes her.
Later i discovered that a big part af my money was gone !!

One of my experiences that I posted a while back included a place with a trap door on both the floor and wall. That's why I stated that ALL non-local -mainly tourist (like us) are always put into the same special room so they can get to our money/belongings easier. Think of it as the same trick magicians use to make things "disappear".
All the locals get to use the regular rooms.

It's a nice thought but anything above that is just trouble. I met that monger you are referring to (Name was Pirate, nice guy and very honest and willing to help everyone almost everywhere he went but was run off the forum by all the stiffs here not looking at the great information he provided but by his style of writing.-too bad as I actually liked his posts and his wacky Pirate of the Caribbean style and grammar.) On one of his great post, He had simply complained about having things stolen at one of these brothels and was immediately confronted by several thugs with knives and pipes at the door. He kept calm and was allowed to leave -minus his money but kept his life. Like most brothels around the world, they are usually protected by some local mafia and police (via payoffs). In Cambo, some of the brothels are even owned by the police (one of the bartenders told me this in PP).
Bottom line, I just pay a few extra bucks and enjoy a better and safer experience away from the St 63 brothels (if anyone reads back, there is almost Never a monger that reported good service at any 63 borthel)---IMO.

The other reason why they're just not worth it is because the quality of girls is just not up to par. I have never seen anything remarkable in any of those places, ever, and I have checked out probably most of the ones over there. Maybe others' experience differs, but I would say you are near certain to find better at almost any other venue. Potential risk high, potential reward low. We went to Street 63 with our Moto Driver and he even warned us to be careful with our belongings! There is a group of places in 63 in a very close proximity to each other and we did go in their one day but the service was terrible (quite good looking girls though). I think this particular grouping of brothels would be the ones that rip you off. There is one place on its own right at the other end of street 63 and that place for sure is fine and you can see the difference in attitude immediatley... I was with my freind (both took girls, seperate rooms obviously), I put my wallet in my shorts pocket and then bundled up my shorts and put them right next to my hand by the pillow...I used the street 63 brothels probably 6 times in 3 days and never any problem or feeling that there may be a problem... I payed $15 a pop for the girls and maybe that is part of the reason I didnt feel there were any problems..if you insist on haggling like crazy and getting it for $5 then maybe they feel they need to get their money one way or the other!!! I really believe you need to be careful with haggling too much in Asia, you can just end up making your life difficult...normally if everyone is happy then things go smoothly, if someone feels hard done by then problems occur....$15 is 500THB, they could charge me $20 and I would pay no problem if it means no hassles...I really like the brothels in St 63 and it always forms an integral part of any trip to Phnom Penh...best off though avoiding that group of 3 or 4 brothels that are in close proximity (I reckon you can tell immediately that they could be troublesome).

I've had great sex with girls in Pattaya and Bangkok. I'm in Pattaya right now that I think of it. This trip is about 50/50 as far as getting an enthusiastic girl.

It is a clean and tidy hotel with in room safes now, as well as Cable TV, Air con, on-suite with hot water, fan and fridge. Completely girl friendly!

As a general rule I start of at Walkabouts! Which is just over the road from Flamingo hotel? This place is always good to kill a couple of hours. There can be anything from 3 to 15 FL girls in there; in general the rate is $10 ST & $20LT. Best always to tell them what you are going to pay. If you ask they will know you are a newbie, and then silly talk starts like $30ST.

I wanted to hit Sharkys and the bars on 104 Street as these would be harder to get to when the "Water Festival" really kicks in.

In Sharky’s I meet a English guy who was new to PP we had some drinks and I played pool with a couple of FL girls. They told me that Sharky’s has a room that can be rented for $3 and the girls wanted $10 ST. Did not see the room or take the girls, but can anyone confirm this.

When I was in PP last (late 2006) I visited Street 63 on a couple of occaisions. Service and choice was average at best with both places I visited $10 short time inc BBBJ. Service mechanical at best although nothing stolen (I was careful). Good for a quick day time fix but nothing else.

Personally I prefer FL girls/girls at hostess bars e. g. Rose, shanghai, sharkeys etc. The advantage I feel is that you can chat for a while/build rapport, and fine tune the points of the contract that you intend to enter into e. G. BBBJ, anal, photos etc. Furthermore, these establishments allow one the opportunity to meet, exchange infomation, and have a beer with those with similar intentions for being there.

Although in the past I have been very happy with the FL/hostess bar scene-$20 LT, after reading through the last couple of pages I might try out the KTV scene just for the experience when I am in PP in Feb. Thanks for the advice re KTV joints for those that posted earlier. Although because $50-$100 sounds a little excessive (considering I believe that some real gems can be found at FL/hostess bars in PP for $20LT), and the fact that karaoke sucks arse, I am sure my experience with KTV's will be fleeting. However, you can't knock it until you try it.

Just read some PP reports on another site. General theme indicated concerns re mongering in PP over the last 12 mths. One report noted that it was now normal to pay $20-25 ST/$40 LT at many FL bars such as Martini. Personally I can't see how prices could have risen so much since I was last in PP and this trend, as far as I can tell is not supported in the ISG forum. However, can anyone please confirm/deny based on recent adventures?

Finally, a good alternative to hiring a driver for $30 per day is to employ the services of a moto driver $8-10 per day. It pays to employ one that hangs around a well known/established bar or hotel (eg Shanghai bar or flamingo hotel) as they would be aware that they could be tracked down if the need arose. Prior to agreeing to anything ensure they have a decent handle of the English language, they have a good understanding of the layout and bar scene of PP, and that you are clear about the fee.

Way too many people with money to throw away are paying it.

Last night I visited Cyrcee for first time. Picked up a good one Seradee not sure of spelling but thats what it sounds like. She says 22 but who can tell she was very short. She will do anything. I had her all night for $30 plus $7 bar fine. It was certainly worth it. Very cooperative. Since my other bar excursions have been more expensive this was a welcome change. Im a great believer you get what you pay for. Sure you can get $20 all night but what quality? Seradee was good value. Anyone care to comment on the short girls in PP. When very short (4'6"") I always equated that to age but tell me if Im wrong. When Seradee came she was super juicy.... white all over the place. Her English is good enough. She would be 7 on looks and body. Also visited yesterday the massage center in hotel next to Walkabout. Not many good quality girls and none speak English. Settled in the end for $4 massage and $20 fuck which lasted one hour. Looks and body about 6. Few young girls.
