I would argue that they are not at all representative of the expatriates living in other, less sex-industry-centered parts of the Philippines. My expat friends here are extremely well educated, have relatively "normal" lives here and, despite their occasional frustration with the third-world inefficiencies and inconveniences, are relatively happy. They are typically less stressed than the average Westerner, live better than they would in the West, and of course are more sexually satisfied. They do not frequent bars every night, don't drink to excess, and aren't obsessed with screwing a different 19 year old every night, since the fascination with doing so wore off long ago.

My good friend Red Kilt has written often and eloquently about the difference between short-term sex tourists and guys who live and work here, and I agree. I am not denigrating the short-term guys; just emphasizing that the perspectives are entirely different as are the motivations.

Lucky ex yu primary education system (from grade 5 we learned biology, chemistry, physics and other 'advanced' subjects) was superior to the western so I was allowed to skip grade 8 and 9 after a crash course in English when my family finally escaped the war. I know what it is like to be discriminated against much better then most people on this board, I have been shoot at and seen close friends and family killed over that shit so I hate it when people so easily play the race or religious card. Seems lots of low cost carriers fly there from many Indian cities now. The Indians are distinguishable for the fact they roam around BKK's areas of nightlife in large groups and tend to do a lot of looking (imagine 15 guys crowded round the entrance of Long Gun in Cowboy for instance ). Thankfully they haven't yet invaded Biergarten there as other wise no spare seats.

WG's tend to not be so interested yet in this new market as they report many instances of going with one guy, but suddenly finding 6 other guys in the room, happy to watch the original punter and girl do the deed.
