Thanks to this forum and the advice from a few fellow travelers here, my first trip report to Jakarta is a good one.

DAY 1.

I arrived around 11 pm On Wednesday June 11. I got a ride to my hotel which just happened to be close to block M, I'd check in and took a shower to refresh myself before heading over to Top Gun. My first impression was somewhat reminiscent of my experiences at the old la cafe and Manila Bay cafe in the Philippines.

I walked to the bar inside the front door and got a San Miguel lite beer. I remember reading about the bar in the back so I ventured that way. Near the back I ran into an Australian gentleman named Robert. We had a nice chat about the lay of the land. Robert mentioned to me that one of the things he liked about Top Gun versus the Manila Bay cafe as she's read online is that the girls at Top Gun leave you alone. Hahaha. In my walk from the front door to the back I got accosted by at least 6 women. Personally I am not fond of too much attention.

After being hit on by several ladies I took the recommendation of Robert a picked a girl named Ellie. Ellie was quite cute and dressed nicely. We went back to my hotel and had a nice session. Some BBBJ and cow girl. It was okay but there was no chemistry.

After Stadium also Millennium disco is closed since a few weeks. After going to Crown two weeks ago, a Chinese friend brought me to Emporium, jl Pecenongan Raya No. 29 (kota).

It has a club (Tease), private rooms, and a spa. It wasn't too bad, in the club, girls dance and strip until they are naked. I didn't try out the spa.

Emporium is recently renovated and clean, less classy than Crown but definitely much better than Millennium.

Just been to this place. Pretty hard to find if you don't know where your going. Just ask around.

Club is on the 7th floor. 2 rooms 1 big main room and the other smaller with dancers who come around offering you to buy shots for them in return for a bit of lap dance action.

'Chemical enhancements' and 'girls' are readily available. Drinks are expensive. 126,000 for a Corona beer if I recall correctly. Music pretty good. A bit on the harder / faster side.

Ladies all around. Best know how to speak the local Bahasa. But I managed ok with only speak English. Enjoyable experience!.

So here's my mongering report.

Travel and classic hotel. Both similar in setup and both similar in experiences.

It really is a lucky dip in terms of performance. But I have to say that all my experiences were more positive than negative.

All the girls I chose weren't starfish thankfully.

I'm Asian but speak English. No bahasa. Language barrier proved difficult at times but just ask mamasan for English speaking girls.

Price still 350 k at both places for 1 girl session.

Travel was very loud music and mostly was a karaoke singing lady.

Classic was DJ / band which I preferred and also topless dancers.

Travel was a lot darker than classic so chose your girl wisely.

Malioboro. What a place! Have to go see for yourself.

Lots of ladies. Topless dancer's. Great music. Good vibe and good lighting however. Much more expensive than the above places.

Your looking at 800 k minimum for girl service. That's for a local. Foreigners and topless dancers are 1. 2 million +. Lots of variety though.

They have massage / sauna facilities too and also a club with topless dancers and ladies available there for rent too. Mostly local girls. Average quality tbh.

The topless girls will approach you to buy them shots in return for topless lap dance. 50 k per shot. Just make sure you keep tabs on how many you buy them as they can swarm you and it can get a little out of hand. A lotta fun though. And a good way to get to know them if your keen on some action (1.2 million). They're all pretty hot!

I walked into Kartika and Berian massage which are on the same road just down from Manga Besar. I walked back out of both. This was at about 3 pm in the afternoon. Disappointing. Kartika was full of older not so attractive women and Berlian wasn't much better. Quality at Classic and Travel is so much better.

I visited Kimochi Spa which is opposite the Travel hotel. Caters mostly to the locals. The place is old and run down but I had a nice massage from a nice girl. You can see the girl selection on the internet. Just google Kimochi spa.

I can recommend Delta spa Harmoni for the hot stone massage. Felt great afterwards. Expensive though at about 650 k. Just over 2 hours long. Incl. HE.

All these places are in North Jakarta. I stayed at the Grand Mercure Harmoni which is slap bang in the middle of the area. And highly recommend as its a relatively new hotel. 24 hour McDs next door and a shopping mall across the road.

Traffic in Jakarta is a nightmare mostly at peak hour. Taxis are cheap but chances are youll be stuck in traffic jams during the day.

Cheaper and sometimes better options the Transjakarta bus or an OJEK which are the guys on the motorcycles. The bus has a dedicated lane and the OJEKS can weave in and around traffic jams but its not for the faint hearted!!

So yeah. I've enjoyed Jakarta this trip. I didn't venture to the south sorry. So no comment on that. Maybe save till next trip.

Jakarta. A great place to have fun if you know where to look. And for the most part cheap too.

Highly recommend it. I'l be back!

A quick PSA for newcomers. Most places, even those that are open over the Ramadan period, will be closed this weekend (28/29 June), for the first couple days of Ramadan, but will then re-open Monday. Examples include places like Fortune Spa and Hotel. Spas without a hotel will be generally closed for the full month of Ramadan. Malioboro, Alexis both have a hotel.

I am unsure about bars in the block for this weekend, but maybe a senior member could confirm?

I've been to many places all over the US and have always been satisfied with the service I found around but my last 3 days in Jakarta completely ruined that for me.

However, you may be able to get your hotel masseuse to stop by your room and give you some special service. I got that at hotel Ambhara one year at this time.
