I think a runner, who is really just a thief, has no right to privacy.

If women knew that they would be outed as runners, which would affect their ability to earn money (especially by an easy scam) , then they would have to act differently.

Here is one for you out there. On my last trip I was in dirty duck when a gent approached me and said the girl that I chose was a runner. At first I thought this is strange and he wanted her for himself but when she smiled at him as we were leaving I knew he was telling me the truth. So I started working on contingencies just in case as we were walking towards the hotel. After fucking her few times around midnight (I bar fined her early) I ordered pizza from room service which we shared. She had a drink from the mini fridge and then we continued fucking. Next morning, I gave her 300 peso tip and asked her about the guy. She said, he only tips 50 peso or nothing, all girls in the bar know that. She explained that she leaves very far and has service (pre arranged trike, she pays 2000 peso a month) to pick her up 4. 30 am. If the customer does not tip at least 100p she don't have money to get home. I am sure she can get home for less then the 100p but she may need to spend another 1-2 hours waiting or god knows what. Some girls that have their kids with them also pay for babysitter. I had one such case last time. This is a girl that I know and have seen her kid so she was not lying. She worked day shift and for her to stay overnight she would need to shell out 300p for babysitter. Point is if you are nice (and part of nice when mongering is to tip adequately) then they will be nice back and usually are. Very rarely do you get a b|tch that does not appreciate a nice guy. Yes some are out there, and the last two that I have encountered come from the above mentioned bar (I just love spinners and dd always has great once) but we are talking here 2% or less of all girls I have meet over ten years. What works for me is showing them that I will look after them by being nice right after the bar fine. Offer them food or drink on the way to the room (I am talking 100p here) and joke with them, make them lough which means come down to their level, be a kid for 5-10 min. Once they are comfortable then less chances of running.

Nice report what the girl said is correct they don't make much money if they don't get any tip. So if the service we should tip this girl 300 peso or more, if the girl want to leave early if I like her I will promise her a tip if she stay until the morning, if you are nice to them they will stay all night we just need to treat them like human being.

[/QUOTE]Yes, its true that there is no way of knowing if you picked a runner or not until she actually starts running on you, so no insight needed and no need to pull anything out of the air. Its just what she will do (the actual act) that says it all regardless of all the promises made at the bar and the way she touch / talked and all the fake GFF. It just don't matter as all the indications and promises had me believing she was the one for the nite and the chemistry was right and thats the reason I was willing to BF her in the 1st place. Of course there is No way I'll BF a gal if she said to me she will run out on me or even the slightest hint she will do so. I'd save my money and pick the next gal instead. I do not have the magic touch that can instantly spot a runner, so have to rely the question/answers and overall feel --chemistry/comfortzone, or whatever people want to call it.

I never mention tipping to the gal at any time as its just automatic in the morning. If she stayed and was good then yes to a tip.

Now, if the gal plans to run and then insist I tip her to stay-in my books that gal is twice as bad as the usual runner. Afterall, who wants a runner thats also asking for a tip. Surely not from me.

With all this riveting discussion about tipping and the reasons behind it, methinks most of you have forgotten something very basic:

The vast majority of Angeles City visitors are not super-hardcore mongerers. They don't troll web forums dissecting the minutiae of Philippine culture before taking their trips. So naturally, these tourists are going to do whatever they're accustomed to back home. If they tip in their home countries, they're going to bring that practice with them. There's nothing strange, surprising or inappropriate about that.

So it's not about "compensating" or making up for one's rudeness. It's simply about doing what they're used to do. You might conjure up reasons why he's tipping when the real answer is simply: 'habit'.

Just going to leave this here as it was posted in the Manilla thread and directly applies to the ever ongoing tipping discussion.

I mean really what else is there to talk about in AC? There is a thread for hotels, its not like any of the bars are hidden, there are no secret handshakes to get entrance, the variety of girls at any bar changes by the hour, so whats left to discuss?

So here is the key factor my mongering friend. The AVERAGE price of an AC-styled barfine is based on the scarcity of resources. Of the country who hosts the market. Just look at Thailand. The Baht has grown considerably on one hand and so has the barfine. Doubly doo-doo. However, you still see ex-pats paying. But who they pay for has changed. It is those with the ways and means to follow the market trends that fuels this market growth.

So, if you really want to make an impression on the market? Buy local foods, stay at cheap mom and pop hotels, don't go shopping at the mall, don't play golf, don't go to the mega-bars and barfine / drink, etc. Doing that makes the rich, richer and brings larger investors into the market who will spend a premium for nicer venues. Er. These venues will try to recoup the investment by charging higher prices. DOESN'T THIS MAKE MORE SENSE TO EVERYONE?

All the other excuses are not verifiable.

These girls know very well what the job entails and if they have children adequate babysisitting arrangements have been made beforehand in case she finds a big spender.

It is always better to ask questions before you barfine like when she wants to leave, does she like sex many times, would she like to eat breakfast etc. They may lie but in AC most girls are kind of honest if posed the right questions.

Runners I had said they will stay till 7 am.

1. One girl had pre-arranged somebody call her in the middle of night saying she needs to go home for some emergency.

2. Another one had her roommate call her and said she needs the key because she lost hers.

3. Another got a call from nearby province saying her child was sick and she needs to come quick.

So in these instances whatever agreement was done in the bar is null and void.

Fortunately for me only minor percentage were runners.

I never thought about all the arrangements that some of these girls make but I did know a girl who owned a street bar in BKK. Same idea, she paid someone to push her bar cart and storage cart to her night time street zone. It's wasn't a lot of money but it was a cost of doing business before even serving one drink. He'll, her sister friends worked her bar and she was on the hook for salaries even if there were few customers. Now I see a girls point that if there is only a 20p-50p tip and she will miss her prepaid ride, well it's a brainless decision really. To bad you can't show the other mongerer the light and maybe if he would deep a little deeper, he will be serviced so much better. These girls talk, I know when a friend of mine walks in a gogo with me, I always see a few of the girls whisper to each other. Vicisious circle really because do you really think he will have a good date with a girl that is already tainted by his earned or even in some cases undeserved reputation (there is always 2 sides to a story.)

Good on you for tipping fairly and good on the guy who doesn't. We all get what we deserve in the end.

For example the last girl I have barfined in AC asked around 11pm, after we had sex, if she can leave early to take care of her 1year old kid. Couldn't wait to get rid of me? Your statement that "tourists are going to do whatever they're accustomed to back home" is wrong.

So many Countries around the World do not have an tipping culture and yet those guys seem to shell out the tips just fine. One big example is Japan. I think we have all heard stories from bar girls about how they like to go with the Japanese customers. Most Japanese tip over and above what most other customers tip because they are not used to tipping, and they do not want to lose face and insult the bargirl so they give bigger tips.
