<SNIP>
You hear a lot about cyber scams. But not so much about cyber blackmail based upon someone threatening to expose you. If I was some punk (and I hope there is none reading this to give them ideas) it would be a lucrative income.
Maybe it further justifies never sending money which forces you to reveal your real name.
You make several good points Ms A.
Another aspect worth reminding guys about is NOT giving out too much about yourself in an SMS or text message, as you have no idea who is reading it at the other end. Women are often not too worried about leaving phones lying around in their homes and anyone can pick them up.
A year or so ago I posted here about an incident that occurred in Cebu. In the taxi after arrival at the airport I sent off a message to a previous long-standing friend saying I hoped to see her that night.
Minutes later I received a most abusive text message from someone who claimed to be her husband and who suggested (amongst other things) that he would kill me if I met her.
I was so pleased that I had not given any details like my hotel name etc in my text to her. I never responded to his text and deleted her number immediately.
Of course, later that day I got texts from her telling me he was not her husband; he was harmless; it was all a misunderstanding; please stay as my friend etc etc. It was a salutary lesson for me.
Be careful guys, and keep your wits about you. You only need one crazy incident to occur to destroy your livelihood and possibly your life.

Fake facebook
real face book profile (not my fake profile)
Before my recent trip I setup a fake facebook profile (using my junk email account which is not linked to anything). The facebook account had no pics, but I just started randomly adding PI girls on there and most were accepting without issue.
I tried messaging a few at random to see if they would meet without any success.
Then BANG, after about a week of using the account - "People you may know " - holy shit all my work colleagues turned up on there even though I had all the security set to high etc.
Account was deleted immediately. So freaking scary.
Be interested to see how you remained totally safe with your fake account.
How do you seem real to other people without having multiple pics of you etc. ?

How do you seem real to other people without having multiple pics of you etc. ?
Well I have ran a fake fb quite some time now and like you it is not connected to anything known to my regular life back home. Never had any issues like you and even if I get loads of friends recommendations I have never, ex 1 time, had anyone from my real life beeing recommended. But that one time, out of the blue, one friend from my real life and my normal fb popped up.
I just blocked him off from my fake fb, just in case. After this no trouble.
What could have happened? HM I guess 2 reasons, and feel free to enlighten me (and OP) if you have readible knowledge to how FB works.
Reason 1: I can by mistake (probably drunk or sth) have searched my normal friends facebook from my fake one. Then I guess fb remembers that.
Reason 2: my friend could without my knowledge be friends with one or several girls I have befriended (I hardly think so but I guess stranger things could have happened). But he is very far from mongering candidate and hardly ever heard about phils, hehe.
I have no better reasons for this to happen since it almost never happened to me.
And having nothing connected to your real world is what I do which works out just fine ex the one excample explained here. A total strange account name, no known phone, no known e-mail, positionings off etc etc. The pics of me I send on the girls request later in our chats. To begin with I have only nonsense pics but I guess pinays are not very critical in who they befriend. Infact it seems like the ultimate competition out there "who have most friends in facebook".

You need to be sure that don't post same pictures on both accounts since FB now uses technology to compare pictures.
3. Maybe Facebook is reading the IP address and the two accounts using the same IP.
Unlikely. Often several people use the same computer in a family residence and in a Internet cafe it'll be dozens if not hundreds.

I may have the answere
If you have been trying to use your fake ID with the same phone and have messenger on it, or you have sync contacts turned on it will pick up the contacts you have in your phone even in your Email ID, basically Its quite possible if you are using the same Smart phone to log in to 2 different FB accounts. I have a fake FB account as welll I can't delete it even bec. I forgot the password and its not linked to any of my email ids, the secret question also I forgot, but there were people from my original ID poping in, One friend even added me: S.
I'm not a computer expert but even if a computer is used by several people the IP address is still the same. It's linked to the computer, not to the people. Isn't it?
TL;DR version: Correct. An IP address is assigned to a device and not a person, ergo multiple people with their own unique wastebook logon credentials (username and password) may use the same computer having the same one IP address and there will be no user profile confusion, overlap, etc. Users need to logon and log off wastebook and not cache their credentials.
IP addresses may be assigned either statically or dynamically using DHCP. Almost all home users use a dynamically assigned address, one that is leased by the ISP's DHCP server to the customer's computer. This is done in the background by the computer and the DHCP server so it's invisible to the user unless he opens a terminal window and types a command to release or renew the lease. Invisible to the user the lease is automatically renewed whilst the computer is online. Turn off the computer, the IP renewal request will cease, and the DHCP server will assign the IP to another computer when needed. Move the computer to a different location that uses different block of IPs and the computer will be assigned a new IP.

Bizarre
We all have many chit chats with the ladies, and some of them go smoothly. Some of them are just bizarre.
Cute young lady, "treshtorres" lives in Cebu. Profile says " she wants to meet a foreigner in Cebu.
Tresh. " Hi ".
FF. "Should be easy for you to find a foreigner in Cebu, theres many there.
Tresh " why you say that ".
FF. " Well there are many foreigners living in Cebu and you are looking to find one so it shouldn't be too difficult to achieve your aims.
Tresh. " No, I said I want to find a foreigner here in Cebu".
If girls had looks as well as brains we would be in trouble. !

Not an expert.
I get quite many msg regarding how its so easy to hook up with them girls in general and more spesificaly questions surrounds my use of my fake FB. Remember guys that loads of girls carry atleast 2/3 FB's so me having one monger FB is nothing special. Girls are open about it though but never do add your fake FB into theirs FB of origin:
Me: how are you sweetie.
Her: I am fine and by the way I am the mother of Cindirella, I am pregnant now.
Me: Huh?
Her: "she send pic of herself and the daughter (its the daughter I wanted)".
Me: Huh, wtf??
Her: My daughter come see you in hotel but no sex ok?
Me: Ofcourse not.
Her: good I trust you.
Cindirella arrives we fuck like rabbits, have a drink and fuck again. I did ask her about the mother at play here and she told me mother wanted her to meet foreign guy, exact words: "rich foreign guy" I asked her more (for fun) and she told me that her mother did not like Cindirellas BF (pinoy). Happens only in the phils.

The time between trips is much longer for me compared to you and as the number of my "friends" grow I'm bombarded with messages. How do you deal with this? Just deactivate your account and get back on just before your trip or just simply ignore them? I have been trying to "keep in touch" by sending short messages or some smiley type sticker but it's getting to be too much. Always appreciate and enjoy your posts.

I take a note from her and when I am 3/4 days away I hit her. Never so far failed bcs of, no pun intented, they seem ro like me. These girls have not much patience. I know many people feel they are beeing ignored, the reason is they start contact girls to early (many months, weeks from arrival date).

I did exactly that when I used to use dating sites but once I switched to fb I guess I kind of forgot. Will fix it starting with trip next week.
