Any other place like Havana?
Hey Guys,
I agree that Havana is special because it still adds the thrill of the hunt and levels it down to easy mode. When I've been there, there have been nights where I go to bed alone. Whether it's because I didn't find anything I liked enough or because I struck out (girls from families with money or in a committed relationship). But that uncertainty (as low percentage as it is) is what gives my visits a bit of a thrill. So even though it's like shooting fish in a barrel, you can still feel like you're Brad Pitt (at least I can easily convince myself of that delusion as long as I don't look into a mirror).
With that said, for the gents that have mongered around the world, is there any place like Havana? And by that, I mean, is there any place that puts almost every girl in play, but not in a paying by the hour way? Is there anywhere else that you can make a play with a fairly good success rate for almost any waitress or shop girl and not pay a flat rate for an hour? When I'm in Cuba, I like to get a girl back to my place, put some tunes on, have a drink and laugh and hang out for a bit before getting down to business. It makes the entire thing feel a million times less transactional when no one is watching the clock. I feel like if I were to go to DR or Panama, you're basically paying for an hour or "one shot" and that's it. I feel like I can just do that with hookers at home. The reason to go to Havana is to feel like a big shot and to live the fantasy that you picked up a girl and got to know her a bit, made her laugh and after that, get your rocks off. Is there anywhere else where you can get the same "vibe"?
Novela Cuba e-Visa. Cheap and efficient!
Big thanks to King Santo, that site worked a gem, got my e-visa for only $25 something, converted from 22 euros and he's right, the link from their page to dviajeros carries over the e-visa number and you just fill in the rest of the details!
Big savings from the "preferred" site of American Airlines, which was $100 in person at MIA, and / or $85 via their website. $60 dollars saved, which will go to one of my favorite jineteras and / or a new one, when I get there this Thursday!
Super looking forward to this long weekend, Thursday through next Monday. If anyone's around, hit me up and I'll buy you a Cristal or 5!

Only comparable places I've been: Philippines and Montego Bay Jamaica
Went to the Philippines in early 2024 for my brother's wedding. Stayed 1 night in MNL on the way there and 1 night on the way back. First night was great, bar fined a beautiful girl from a club, we went and played pool, danced in 2-3 night clubs, had great food at a giant nightclub in Bonifacio Global City, then took her back to the hotel and we fucked for a good 2-3 hours off an on. In all, a great night, pure GFE. At the end, as I put her on her motorbike taxi, she kissed me deeply and said, "I was so happy you chose me because you're very guapo". They use guapo in the Philippines, a legacy of Spanish colonization, along with a big sprinkling of other Spanish words. In short, a great night. The second overnight, I wanted to go out like a rockstar, so I went to a club, rented 4 girls and a room for $300, which came with a huge bottle of Don Julio, mixers, and a box of 20 condoms, all of which got used. Absolutely insane night.
In short, Philippines can definitely be like Havana, where the girls really make you feel special, like their boyfriend. Very common. Downside is nearly all girls are a solid 5. 5-6. The rest are 2's or 10's. The 10's are generally already locked down with an old German or other European man! Lucky bastards. The Filipinas are just SOOO plain looking, hard to deal.
The other place that also made me feel special was Montego Bay Jamaica, especially as a white guy. Go to any club, especially on Friday night at Pier (forget the name) and / or club 2727 on Saturday and wow, if you like black girls who look like track stars, just pure athletic beauty, you'll be in heaven. It's truly unreal. Had so many girls offer to go home with me, I absolutely felt like a celebrity. If you don't like dark chocolate though, you will have a bad time, as that's all there is, unless you try to pick up other tourists, which is always an option as many of them want to get freaky. Personally, I love the dark girls, especially the athletic ones, so it was a fantastic trip.
But Habana is my favorite, because the girls are dark-ish, truly beautiful to my eyes, and nearly every girl is available to you if you put in the effort, whether they have a boyfriend or husband or not, if you make an effort, you will reap the reward. I've only had 2 in 5 visits straight up turn me down for relationship reasons. So yeah. This is why when I land in HAV, standing in line for immigration, I already find myself getting hard. The city of permanent hard on, Habana. Fucking love it there!!

Just back from 10 days in Habana
Hola aceres,
I got back late last night from 10 days in Habana, good to sleep in my own bed again. About 2/3 regulars, but I also recruited some good new talent. Keep in mind I'm pretty specialized, and my type is hard to find in any country (lighter skinned spinners). They are there, but fatness is a contagion that has hit every country, even one as poor as Cuba (no offense intended to my libertine brothers who like the more voluptuous girls. Different strokes for different folks!
I met with a couple forum members while there, very cool, good times. A little humbling, as some of these guys are master pimps, and they do this all over the world, all year. Way beyond my experiences and intensity level. In other words, bad influences jjj because they have me wanting to go full retirement mode and escalate to a full timer. They were the kids your mom didn't want you hanging out with jjj because they would corrupt you. They also have me wanting to expand to Colombia and Brazil, et al. Innocence lost.
Yes things are getting progressively worse in Havana. Fortunately I didn't have any power issues except the first night as mentioned below, which in August is very important because the low is often 80 F at night. Power outages would be less of an issue in January through April. But the power situation is inevitably spiraling, as Cuba's rep for not paying its bills grows by the day. On my first day, I saw this giant Turkish floating power plant being repossessed out of Havana Harbor. It said on the side, "The Power of Friendship" in English which seemed weird and ironic, as the repo man hauled it away. Maybe they should change its slogan to, "Never Loan Money to Friends. "
Going in cooler months changes everything for me, as exploration, even at night, is hindered by the heat. When I was walking at 10 PM down through San Rafael I got home with my shirt soaked, and I am not a big sweater. Of course during the day in August, daytime exploration is limited. One area I want to explore more in Old Havana is San Lazaro street, which runs from the Malecon and Prado all and dead ends at the University of Havana, which I suspect could be an interesting place to explore around lunchtime ("Disculpe, puede decirme thende est la biblioteca? And then make a right on Calle L, which leads to the Havana Libre hotel (formerly the Havana Hilton until Fidel stole it). Always a ton of foot traffic on Calle L around that area. Seems like prime hunting grounds.
WRT the 400 pesos / dollar rate, I haven't seen much inflation. Cristales are still 300 pesos at most stores. I did notice even my favorite tienda didn't have much in the way of foreign made snacks. One key is, if you want some snacks or drinks in your apartment (and since Americans can't use hotels, I don't know how you cannot want some things in your fridge), you should check every tiny tienda as you explore. They all have something different, and some of the nicer ones look like shit from the outside, which of course describes all of Cuba.
Edward Q brings up a good point. I always try to be kind to the Cuban ladies. And yes, some you will have a connection with and maybe throw some feelings along the way (YMMV). This is more of an issue for those who favor in person hunting, but the jealousy thing will pop up for those constantly hunting variety (or "infinite diversity in infinite combinations" as Spock would say). IMO it's best to make girls think that your schedule is in flux, and you don't really don't know your plans very far in advance. I always tell cubanas that I am in country with friends and we are traveling around and exploring new places and it's a group thing so I don't dictate our plans. "Estoy en Vardadero with mis amigos" is always a great excuse. Make up a friend that lives in Miramar whom you are staying with tonight, and he lives with his aunts so you can't bring girls over, sorry. But yeah, as Cisco suggests, unless you know a girl very well, odds are they aren't pining away at home saving themselves for you on a Saturday night when you are with some other chica. Assume they are all hoes and you won't be disappointed. If I run into a girl on the street I know, I always have canned excuses, "I am headed for sleep now" or "I am meeting friends at XX Bar / Club. " Have a made up fake plan in your head. And as always, work on your Spanish.
All in all, a good trip, other than the August heat. Next Havana trip will be in November.
Being recognized by girls
Funny anecdote time (with regards to bumping into girls you have seen before). I was out walking around Old Havana (way back in 2012) and some guy dragged me into a bar. I didn't mind since it was hot and I wanted a drink anyways, so I didn't mind the $1 to buy him a beer too. Lo and behold, he tells me to hold on so he can introduce me to his "cousin". He runs out and comes back 60 seconds later with 2 "cousins". Both were pretty damned hot. Anyways, I ended up grabbing their numbers for later. A few days later, I end up getting through to one of them (home phone lines since this was before cell phones were a thing in Cuba) and invite her over for a drink and we spend a very fun and spirited evening together.
Jump to 2013, and I end up going back to Havana with a buddy of mine. We're sitting at a bar, when someone calls my name. I turn around and it's her. I can't believe that she recognized me from one night after a full year. My buddy says he'll make himself scarce, and I make plans for her to come over that evening. We have a fantastic few hours together.
No idea how she recognized me, but I'm sure glad she did cause she was a great time. So, maybe sometimes being recognized isn't an absolutely horrible thing. 😁.
Havana first timer. Mistakes have been made
Hey guys, I need a little help if anyone has any insight. I am an 8 year veteran of Sosua but with all that's going on right now I decided to give Cuba a try.
I arrived yesterday afternoon got all set up and took a stroll down San Rafael. I parked up at one of the restaurants with outdoor seating. I met a cutey and later in the night we went back to my apartment and everything was good.
I was walking around early afternoon and there she is again. So we walked around together, went to the cafe and had some coffee, went and had some ice cream together, walked around some more and then ended up sitting on a bench in the shade in the park where the walking portion of san Rafael kind of starts.
We sat there for a couple hours talking, smoking cigs, and buying different things to try from the food vendors walking by. We were a bit cuddly because of course we have amor verdad. At one point one of her friends came over and sat on the bench with us.
She starts getting ancy and says she wants to leave because of the police or something. So the 3 of us head down San Rafael to look for some dinner. But she is acting nervous. We got separated for a few minutes and when I went back to her she be-lined down a side street and a man directed me over to 3 other men who were standing together. All these men were in plain clothes. One asked where I was from and I told him united states. They all just were looking at me not saying anything. After a couple minutes another guy came and pulled me aside. He said he was from immigration. My Spanish is limited and in that situation I really couldn't understand anything other than he kept saying that girl is a prostitute and how we were in the park for over 2 hours. He let me go and now I am in my apartment scared and not knowing what to do.
Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?
Was their beef with her and they were just warning me or was it an issue that we were together in the park for so long? I feel like I'm definitely marked now and I am pretty nervous.
Fellow mongers please advise.
