Hi to all of you Philippines experts.

So I am coming to Manila next month. As I am staying at my friend place is not OK to bring some girls there.

I need advice which in which hotel I can go for short time (few hours) in manila-as I am on realy tight budget-so please only budget option.

I guess that many mongers have found that pinay tend to not have suitable swimwear when invited for a swim in the hotel pool.

So I like to have a number of bikinis available for them to choose from. I like the skimpy, string tie type, because they are infinitely adjustable to any shape and size of body.

Usually I transit into Phils via Angeles City, where they are readily available for 150 pesos each, but this time it is into Manila direct.

Does anyone know where I can buy some of these cheap?

I seem to have been talked into dancing on a Saturday night in Manila. I imagine everywhere will be crowded. God help me.

I'm staying in Malate and would consider going to Makati. Can anyone give a rough description of some places they like? Disco or live music would be fine. I would probably not be interested in a place with country music or heavy hip-hop.

If I get stressed out in a crowded disco, is there a nice music club with a mellow atmosphere as an alternative?

I know:

Cowboy Grill Ermita. Live band, small dance floor.

LA cafe. Sometimes poor quality bands (like Friday night) , possibilty of my "regular" gal getting turned over to the dark side.

Nirvana. Never been there, but that is what I'm leaning toward at the moment. On Taft ave.

Republic IQ. Never been there, but it was recommended as a nicer place. Apparently in Paranaque, near Terminal 3.

Hard Rock. Its been years since I visited, but they had a nice set up with live band at one time.

Now, let me get to polishing my dancing shoes.

SO I'm searching on DIA and I get a message from a cutie but her City is not Manila, I tell her that I'm only going to Manila. She says she's in Manila, that its just a part of Manila. So I search the city name and sure enough its part of Manila and there are 25 or so girls that list that on DIA. So what other citys should I be searching for other than Manila? For example I searched Pasig, and I get hundreds of girls that I would not have seen by only searching Manila! Are there others that I should search?

Cowboy Grill is a combination of comedy with live bands, and some dancing, definitely on the less extravagant but a fun place at least for the locals with the bands and their comedic ways, but some of the joking is in Tagalog. I went to Republic and it's in a nice mall / casino there by the airport. It's definitely more upscale. There is another one in the same building that starts with an "O", but that place gets really crowded late. Kind of depends on your company I guess. Not sure if any of those places are really for doing a lot of dancing, but whatever works.

Pasig, Marikina, Makati, etc. A person living in Marikina would have no Manila mentioned in their address, the address would be 1 Buko St, Marikina, Philippines

DIA has a very bad location search feature. If you are not familiar with Philippine geography, you'll be spending lots of time with google maps figuring out who is from where.

Fil Cupid has probably the best search feature that takes geography into account, but its a pay site.

There are 17 'subdivisions' or cities that make up the greater Manila area. If you are in any of them (ie Pasig) , you can say you went to Manila.

Next, if you can afford to fly to pinas, you can spend the $20 to get a subscription. Go have fun, write us a nice Field Report first, then ask questions.

How do some of these guys find their way to their departure airport, let alone cope in a 'savvy' place such as Manila? It's a mystery.

There is an OAP's Tea Dance at the Old Fogeys Club which would suit you perfectly. Plaid bell-bottoms allowed.

Just so you cannot accuse me of wasting bandwidth, be aware that Nirvana is not only closed but has been demolished in its former Taft location. Don't know if it has reopened elsewhere.

Hi X Man, there is a rock and roll bar on the street behind Burgos in Makati that is pretty good. Sorry, I don't know the name of it but it was packed with pinays and some westerners. The band was good: I even bought their CD! Food was good, too. Picked up a little hottie there and banged her for free (well except taxi money in the morning.

In Malate, there is Freddie Aguilars, a Filipino legend, close to Robinson's on Adriatico. It's a small, intimate place but they do rock. I jammed on guitar with Freddie's son, Jericho, on stage there. It's a fun place, good place to take a date. Have fun.

What we know as Metro Manila or National Capital Region is actually a collection of 17 different [B]cities[/B].

DIA simply reports whatever the girl puts in her location.

So she might put Manila meaning Metro Manila as she doesn't want to pinpoint her location, or she might put just Ermita or Ermita, Manila or she might put Malate or Malate, Manila.

But wait. There's more to confuse you.

If you search Quezon City you get a specific list.

If you search QC (the abbreviation of the above) you will get different names of women living in the same place.

If a girl puts Cubao, Quezon City or Cubao, QC, as her location, then that really confounds things.

There is Pasig and also Pasig City. Both yield different lists, as do each of the cities that you might input.

BTW, just for interest, the major focus areas (cities) are (reading from north to south (roughly speaking because some of them are on the same East-to West line) :

Kalookan (aka Caloocan) ; Navotas; Valenzuela; Malabon; QC; Marikina; San Juan; Manila; Mandaluyong; Pasig; Makati; Taguig; Pateros; Pasay; Paranaque; Las Pinas; Muntinlupa.

X Man[/QUOTE]Be prepared to wait in a long q if you decide to go Republiq. Check with people in the know or give it a miss. In makati you may want to try the disco under the new world hotel (sorry can't remember the name now) or ICON in intercontinental. There are few other ok places accoross the road from city garden near burgos. Have a look around, there is a disco there just next to a KTV joint and a lounge bar. Hard rock is also ok, Thursday and Saturday I think you have the MOCA girls, some nice eye candy there. Bed Rock in Malate is another ok live music venue. There are few venues further out in eastwood libis but stick to makati / malate.
