[/QUOTE]Tempus / Ritz Carlton isn't known as a good pickup spot. You may get a possible pickup there but not guaranteed. Also, likely to be expensive.

There are a few escort services advertised in Jakarta but so far I haven't found it good enough to recommend.

If you don't mind going out to pick up someone. The Senayan area bars and BATS at Shangri-La are the nearest hunting grounds. Blok M (Jalan Falatehan, the sports bars there) is also reasonably near.

- Expensive bar in an expensive hotel, if your co' pays the bill then go to the bar and buy long islands ice teas for the ayam that frequent the bar. Its low key, but their definitely there, easy to spot because they will make the eye contact and also the fact they'll be sitting on 1 glass of white wine for many hours, usually alone. That is of course until you get the "where you from, how long, where you stay mister" , which incidentally will then dictate the price they charge you. Quite soon after those questions they will be asking for a long island ice tea. In fact I remember one time in BATs, I met a girl and I asked her name, she responded with "long island ice tea". Well, you can imagine how much fun I had with that ayam for the next 5 mintues. Sorry I digress.

- The non-hooker type, expect well dressed expats and local women who come for the latin dancing, but there is very little chance they will talk to you. Especially if their wealthy stuck-up shit-don't-stink Indo-Chinese women.

- I can think of a hundred places in the city which have better bars and better girls, and both cheaper.

- Short walk to Loewy, for another overpriced experience. But with more girls and more hookers too.

Best bet is do some research on this forum, and then choose a few places to explore. Do the taxi thing. Its perfectly safe, albeit can be long journeys in traffic between venues though.

If you thought that was pushing your budget, you certainly don't want to visit Jakarta now! Or even worse Bali. Which is where Kuta is BTW. You don't even need to RTFF to determine that, Google does a fine enough job (or a map).

On a more serious note, am I the only one finding the exchange rate / inflation rate really starting to bite in Jakarta? Especially notable in taxi fares.

Compared to Bangkok and other places inflation hasn't really reared its ugly head that much. For example, my fare to my usual destinations still costs the same as it did in 2011 when I take taxi companies Taxiku or Rosalina. My plate of soto ayam still costs the same among other dishes. The rent for my centrally-located apartment has only inched up 2% over a three-year period which is fine.

The only thing that's risen significantly is the price of import chics at Malio / Bunker / etc from 1.750.000 to 2.000.000 and upwards. And places like Classic and Travel and King Cross from 275 to 350 and 300 to 350 and 375 to 450 respectively.

Another thing I noticed is the girls are getting greedier when it comes to tipping and gone are the days when you'd shoot a nice load bareback and get 2 shots for 30 or 50. These days they need at least 100 or 150 and you probably won't be getting a second shot.

In freelancer places it's totally supply and demand and depends how desperate the girl is that night. I still get 700 at Blok M bars and 1.000.000 at CJ's / BATS these days (short time although some of them do end up staying long time).

That bar caters to Indians and Arabs and the girls there reflect the type of girl they normally like.

So many travel guides and websites still insist that the only trustworthy Jakarta taxis are Bluebird and Silver Bird that I'm sure a lot of newcomers will take nothing else, even if it means paying the premium for the latter.

I can't remember any bad experiences with any of the big taxi companies -- BB Group, Express, Putra, Transcab, Taxiku, Gamya etc. The ones to watch out for are the older, rather more battered cars that tend to come out after dark, often with colors and logos that look like the main companies.

Also: newbies should know that whenever traffic is bad, the busway can be much quicker (not to mention cheaper) than any cab. For example, between North Jakarta and Blok M, which is a straight shot on the bus.

I am Staying in Sari pan pacific hotel now. Could any body help me where is a good location to pick up a young girl, to bring to my room for long time. Or any massage places that will be open in the day time, and what would be the rates? And if they provide BBj?

Is the bars and the massage places will be open during Ramadan??

There are 2 Ritz Carltons in Jakarta, they are located close to each other. One at Pacific Place the other one at Mega Kuningan. As you refer to Tempus, I guess you are staying in the one at Mega Kuningan? Mistere used to be a happening place at times, not always, like Bats or CJ's. But since it has been renamed to Tempus, it has been pretty dead, from what I understand, I have not visited in years. The below link may help you with some information:

Escort services are, generally, of poor reputation in Jakarta. Over-priced and slack service. Before you call-in perhaps you could try and have a drink in one of the bars. Bats or CJ's are close by to where you are staying, so is De Leila. Bar pick-ups in Jakarta are easy and wysiwig. What you see is what you get.

You're not too far from Malioboro. But if you want to bring to your room I suggest MSTAR in Mangga Dua. Overnight 1 juta from closing time to 6 in the AM if you bring to your room. Though some Bahasa would be helpful for you since they speak very limited English.

You could try finding a nice freelancer in CJ's in Hotel Mulia Senayan as well, don't pay more than 1. 0 or 1. 5 juta no matter how much they convince you they take more than that, it's a buyers market.

BBBJ is standard practice in Indo and even BBFS.
