Field Report late April early May

Another bar bites the dust

... and so I checked out Alamo/El Paso tonight after a meeting, since I was in the area. Alamo (later re-named El Paso) has now been renamed Loca. It's been completely gutted and remodelled. Gone is the long bar near the dance floor where I met many of my future ex-girlfriends. Now it has a central bar, new stylish furniture, no more live band, no dance floor, and no more hookers. As I was early for the "night-trade" at about 10pm, I asked a waiter if there were still any "very friendly Russian and Chinese girls, like there used to be". He laughed and said "I get your point sir, but they are not allowed in here anymore - we have raised the standard and now we are a good, family-type restaurant".
