I did discover an area a couple weeks ago just as you mention. South (the other side) of 16 De Septembre (at the end of Ave Juarez) where there are a some side streets with bars and what were pretty obviously "door girls" next to the bars, and there were some hotels in the area.
I wish I had detailed directions but I was just wandering and it was my first time in that area. It looked much safer than the areas I go, mainly shops and pedestrians, it was day not night but lots of foot traffic and a half dozen or so door girls in broad daylight. None of them really appealed to me but I may give the area shot on my next trip.

Sounds like the old mercado area - La Paz, I think it's called?
If so, imagine those streets filled with street vendors back to back and all up & down the middle as well as the store-fronts. Used to be a pretty cool area to wander in during the day, before the "clean-up" in that area.

Downtown/Cathedral Area
Thanks for posting, Treewalker and Cienega32. I now recall someone mentioning the street La Paz.
I walked into that area the other afternoon, but I walked south on the street that's next to the church on the west (back) side of it. All I saw was a hotel (left side of street) about a block down (south), but no females in front like you describe. Therefore, the area of bars, hotels, etc., that you mention must be in front of the church, or east of it, correct?
Also, once the sun goes down, would you be afraid to look around any longer in this area, i.e., how safe do you think one would be at dark, say until 8 or 9 P.M.?? Or is it only best to look in the afternoon hours? I have heard conflicting reports on this. In addition to cops bothering you, the cholos could also be a problem as well?? Your thoughts.
Thanks Again.

Looks like someone didn't pay off the Tijuana Police.
Americans can't do adult business in Mexico, they will be chingered everytime.
Here in Juarez many Americans have "leased" brothels, strip clubs and massage parlors living the fantasy of being surrounded by beautiful women only to be screwed over many times in various ways.
The old Posada Indio was owned 4 times in a row by Americans. The first owner died of a heart attack, second died mysteriously and not investigated, the 3rd died of cancer and the fourth was bailed out when the land lord kept raising the "deposit".
Some hillbillys tried to buy the Panama Club, made all kinds of improvements and when the true owner was satisfied he ran them out of town.
Mexican club owners don't like competition from Americans. They resent it. Mexicans have their own theroies of economics and business practices.

Mugroso[/QUOTE]With a name like Heiny, one would think he found the perfect profession.
I wonder how much the child porno wants on him had to do with it, tho' the article said it wasn't known, at the time, it could be bullshit.

Press on both sides of the border like to throw that in when they have a chance.

Shopping Around
What time do most of the strip clubs like ceaser's, bacchus, joker's gold club or even some of the surronding MP's open. I only have time to have some fun during the afternoon and just wanted to get some input?
Whatever happen to the strip club that use to advertise in EP-sleepy iguana or something like that?

MPs worth walking to
Often I like to walk to the mps. I avoid Ceopatras, the closest in el centro, ever since whatshername from Durango left a coupla years ago, the selection has been thin (err, make that large ;-) ) or just down right unappetizing. They're often pushy and aren’t playful in the least. The next closest “pod” of mps is Luxxor, Felinas, and Corpus. Corpus is definitely a last straw of the bunch. I thoroughly enjoy the walk out there through the neighborhoods between Ignacio Mejida and 16 de Sept (from the bridge go east about 4 blocks to Av. Lerdo, south about 3 blocks, head east on Mejida to the church at 5 de Mayo, and just start heading south and east not going beyond 16 de Sept.) Its probably a little over a mile and a wonderful walk. I head either directly to Luxxor or the great bar, Viejo Oeste, 2 blocks west of Felinas on Jose Barunda, to grab a beer and drain the lizard after the walk. Usually nice eye candy there also as a bonus. For a pinpoint location to these mps, check out the Wikipedia map cited a month or so ago here. In the 3+ years walking out there, I’ve never had any problem except once, when I was hassled by cops, 3 blocks from the bridge on Av. Francisco Villa, which should be avoided IMHO. If you still don’t like what you see at these 3 mps, angle north and east to Sirenas (about 3/4 mile) and catch a bus (4.5 pesos) back to el centro in front of Sirenas (til’ about 7-8 pm). Remember, vigor and health! Besides, the quality of chicas makes it worth the walk in and of itself!

Espina - thanks for touching on Viejo Oeste and for the walking info. I saw that on the map and wondered about it. Any action at that establishment or for the eyes only?
